Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the following incidents:
EASLEY
Nov. 27 – B.A. Dunn responded to 10903 Anderson Rd. in reference to a suspicious person. He discovered Robert Holcombe, WM, 60, 5’11″, 160 pounds, grey/blue, unconscious and grossly intoxicated, lying on the ground. He took him into custody for public disorderly conduct.
Nov. 28 – B. Vaughn was manning the desk at the ACSO building when he received a call from Michael Shipman, of 811 Cely Rd., who reported that someone had stolen a power saw and a Ryobi battery charger from his garage. The loss was estimated at $330.
PELZER
Nov. 26 – Sgt. J. Bowland was dispatched to 15 Front St. where Andrew Kuharsky, of AMK Incorporated, reported that someone had entered the property, which AMK owns, and stolen a refrigerator and stove. He also stated that the two items matching the description of the stolen ones were in the back of a truck across the street. The resident there stated that the truck belonged to his son, Zachary Holcombe, but he knew nothing about the appliances. The son arrived shortly and said that a man named Darren Darby had given them to him. Darby’s wife Angela arrived on the scene and confirmed that story. Zachary offered to return the items and did so. Sgt. Bowland attempted to contact Darby but was unable to. No arrests were made.
PIEDMONT
Nov.26 – A.M. Love responded to 115 Cedar Dr. where Danny Adams reported that someone had entered his garage and stolen a leaf blower valued at $600.
Nov. 26 – A.M. Love was dispatched to 102 Ranch Dr. where Randolph Whitmire reported the theft of his utility trailer, valued at $2500.
Nov. 27 – Sgt. A.B. Singleton responded to 210 Byron Abbey, in reference to a death investigation. Brantice Porter, daughter of Victor Sloan, WM, 60, 6’2″, 280 pounds, reported finding him unresponsive and cold to the touch on the floor of his home when she arrived to check on him. Sloan had several serious medical conditions and was taking medications for them. The coroner was summoned.
Nov. 28 – R. Anderson responded to the Subway restaurant at 3443 Hwy. 153, where manager Stephanie Campbell said that Dante Cole, an employees, had been taking money from the register by manipulating register records and orders. Cole, WM, 21-28 years old, no description given, was not at the scene at the time Anderson was there. No arrest has been made.
WILLIAMSTON
Nov. 26 – C.M. Ashe was dispatched to 4405 Anderson Hwy. in reference to a suspicious person. He found Thomas Bacon, WM, 33, 5’6″, 135 pounds, bald/green, walking along the road in his sock feet. Reports state Bacon was emitting a strong smell of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet. He was arrested on a charge of public disorderly conduct.
Nov. 28 – B. Vaughn responded to 1819 Beaverdam Rd. where Lee Currens reported the theft of a Poulan leaf blower and a power drill valued at $205 from a shed in his yard.
Nov. 29 – Sgt. Greg Williamson happened upon the scene of a car crash involving a SCHP trooper, whose name does not appear in the report. The crash occurred at Simpson Road and Hwy. 81. Michael Harbin, WM, 29, 6’, 145 pounds, brn/blue, of Friendship Lane in Anderson, was traveling south on Hwy. 81 when he reportedly suddenly executed a U turn and hit the trooper head on. Both vehicles were heavily damaged but no serious injuries occurred. Harbin was arrested for DUI.
