WILFRED BURDETTE
Wilfred “ Skeet” Burdette, 74, husband of Sue Holmes Burdette, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Mary Lucille Burdette Green.
He retired from Duke Power Company and attended Tabernacle of the Lord in Townville.
Surviving are his wife of the home; son, Benji Burdette of Maiden, NC; daughter, Robbie Sue Anton of Anderson; brothers, Bud Owenby of Anderson and Jimmy Green of Williamston; sisters, Betty Jean Alewine  and Judy Dunn, all of Belton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held January 21 at The Tabernacle of the Lord in Townville.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.

LAURA HAMPTON EDWARDS
Laura Hampton Edwards, 88, of Greer, widow of Edison Ray Edwards, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
Born in Rock Hill, she was a daughter of the late James Thomas and Myrtle Avington Welchel Hampton.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Locust Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are children, Karla Sue Edwards Carter of Aiken, Laura Gaye McGill of Taylors, Anna Edwards Gerdes of Katy, TX, Winston “Butch” Edwards of Chatanooga, TN, Coach Rick Edwards of Central, and Jim Lowry of Pelzer; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Hampton Anderson of Rock Hill.
A memorial service was held Saturday at Locust Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at a later date in Andersonville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 429C North Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601.

RALPH ‘BONES’ ALLEN DICKSON
Ralph “Bones” Allen Dickson, 57, husband of Wanda Posey Dickson of Hone Path, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at his home.
Born in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of Ray Fulmer Johnson of Laurens and the late Harold Dickson. He was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother and wife of the home are: sons, Christopher Wayne Dickson of Honea Path and Dwayne Dickson of Laurens; daughters, Dorie Pruitt of Honea Path and Loretta Wynn of Piedmont; brothers, Randy Dickson of Pelzer and Howard Johnson of Laurens; sister, Carol Owens of Laurens; 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his step father, Tommy Johnson.
Service was conducted Saturday at Broadmouth Baptist Church. Burial followed at the Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Broadmouth Baptist Church.

WILLIE MARY FIELDS
Willie Mary Fields of Piedmont died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Easley Nursing Home.
Funeral service was held Jan. 19.

LOUISE BROWN COKER
Louise Brown Coker, 92, widow of William Bruce Coker, of Piedmont, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late W.L. and Annie Pearl McWhite Brown.
She was a member of Welcome Baptist Chruch and was a homemaker.
Surviving are a son, Tom Coker of Piedmont; daughter, Ginger Smith of Greenville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a twin sister, Elise Bowen.
A graveside service was held January 20 at Graceland Cemetery, West.

DONNA F. JONES
Donna Fowler Jones, 54, of Greenville, died January 19, 2012 at her home.
A native of Anderson County, she was daughter of Gary Fowler of Powdersville and the late Elsie Moody Fowler.
She was a paralegal for Haynesworth-Senkler-Boyd and a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.
Also surviving are her husband, Christopher Jones of the home; adopted daughter, Leslie Bridges of Piedmont; brother, Rev. Terry Fowler of Chester; grandmother, Dorsie Fowler of Powdersville; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sunday at Mt. Airy Baptist Church.

ETHEL LESLEY
Ethel Lorene Chastain Lesley, 99, formerly of Pelzer, widow of William C. Lesley, died Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Hosanna Health and Rehab in Piedmont.
Born in Habersham County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Julius Monroe and Pearl Lee Chapman Chastain.  She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Pelzer.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann Durham of Piedmont; son, Bill Lesley of Pelzer; three grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Connie Gaillard, of Easley, and Nellie McGuire, of Anderson.
Graveside services were held Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
Family members will be at their respective homes.

ELSIE A. ALBERSON WYATT
Elsie Alberta Albertson Wyatt, 88, died January 20, 2012.
She was the daughter of the late Wade Hampton Alberson, Jr., and Effie McClain Alberson.
She was predeceased by her husband, Willie Thompson Wyatt, Jr.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Wyatt of Travelers Rest and LTC Jeffrey Wyatt of Columbia; five grandchildren; and sister, Sue Alberson Henderson of Piedmont.
She retired from the South Carolina Employment Security Commission and was a member of Kilbourne Park Baptist Church.
Funeral service was held January 24 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

FRANK T. NIMMONS
Frank Thomas Nimmons, 50, of Anderson and husband of Janice Miller Nimmons died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at AnMed Health in Anderson.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Samuel Washington and Ruth Louise Rochester Nimmons. He was an auto mechanic and worked with Country Ford in Pendleton and Fairway Ford of Anderson and Greenville. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church of Anderson and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Anderson.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Randy Lee Nimmons; daughters, Missy Lynn Nimmons and Anna Michelle Whitworth; step-sons, Craig Kyzer of Anderson and Shane Kyzer of Williamston; step-daughter, Kelley Kirby of Anderson; brothers Sammy Jerry Nimmons and Jimmy Roy Nimmons both of Pendleton; and 14 grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Anderson.

BARBARA MARTIN BURTON
Barbara Martin Burton, 78, of The Laurels of Hendersonville, NC, widow of Milford L. “Mick” Burton, died Saturday, January 21, 2012.
Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late George and Jeanette Day Martin.
Mrs. Burton was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are children, Kim Burton, Kerry Ward, and Andrew Burton; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sisters, Jeri Martinez and Peggy Chandler.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, January 25  at Woodlawn Memorial Park Remembrance Chapel. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

ALVIN MARTIN
Alvin Orville Martin, 75, of Williamston, husband of Shirley Cox Martin, died Monday, January 23, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Ollie Andrew and Arvilla Chapman Martin.  He retired from the Celanese Corporation in Greenville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Mark Martin of Williamston, and Michael A. Martin of Pelzer; daughters, Kathy M. Knight of Pelzer, and Donna M. Hodges of Ware Shoals; sister, Patricia M. Cooley of Williamston; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 26, in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
The family is at the residence.

ARTHUR EDMUND LAMPE
WILLIAMSTON – Arthur Edmund Lampe, 62, passed away suddenly from a heart attack on Thur., Jan. 19, 2012.
Arthur was raised in Coopersville, MI, and lived in Holland MI where he worked at Herman Miller furniture manufacturer.  He moved to South Carolina in 2004 where he worked for Goodwill Industries until his recent retirement.
He is survived by three sons, Clifford (Mary Beth) Lampe of Chelsea, MI, Christopher Lampe of Holland, MI, and Cameron Lampe of Holland, MI.  In addition, he had one grandson, Bodhi Lampe, and is remembered by his siblings, their spouses and children.
In lieu of services, donations in his memory can be made to either the Goodwill Industries of Greenville, or to the Greenville Humane Society.

HERMAN LEON AMBROSE
Herman Leon Ambrose, 81, husband of Elsie Taylor Ambrose, formerly of Belton, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at Ellenburg Nursing Center.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Ruben Wister and Rosalee Blalock Ambrose. He was a member of Cross Hill Church of God, former Belton fire chief and retired from the National Guard and Anderson County. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: sons, Douglas Ambrose, Wendell Ambrose, Dale Ambrose and Danny Ambrose, all of Belton; daughters, Ethel Srickland of Lake Secession, Becky Oyler of Williamston, and Diane Call of Belton; sister, Marjean Loftis of Due West; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Cross Hill Church of God. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.
The family will be at the home of Douglas Ambrose, 251 T.C. Banister Road, Belton.
