The Town of Williamston reminds residents that leaves must be placed in bags for the town to remove them. The town ordinance Sec. 12-12 states states leaves and grass clippings to be picked up shall be enclosed in disposable containers such as plastic bags, securely tied and placed in a location near the street and in a separate pile from other trash or debris to facilitate the collection process.
No other foreign materials can be mixed with the leaves or grass clippings, such as, but not limited to paper, cans, flower pots, metal, string, or glass.
