Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the following incidents:
EASLEY
Feb. 17 – J.E. Scott responded to 108 Still Meadow Lane where Joel Warren, employee for Legendary Communities Co., reported the theft of 53 sheets of OSB board valued at $424 from a construction site.
Feb. 19 – J.L. Martin responded to the Bi-Lo on Hwy. 153 where store employee Linda Looper reported that an unknown black female, 25/35 years old, 5’5″, 150 pounds, attempted to steal several packs of meat before fleeing the store after an altercation with an employee. She left behind her shirt, coat and purse. She possibly got into a silver Chevrolet Malibu with Georgia tag AET1656, which came back as registered to a rental company in Marietta Ga.
Feb. 20 – D.L. Brinston responded to Karate After School, located at100 Powdersville Main where Shawn Mattaliano reported that someone had thrown a brick through the glass front door, doing $400 damage.
Feb. 20 – J.T. Bowers was dispatched to 109 Timbertrace Way where James Woodall reported that someone had shot and broken his glass basketball goal with a pellet gun. Damage was estimated at $200.
Feb. 21 – J.T. Bowers responded to 241 Colonial Dr. where Johnny Lollis, WM, 61,6’2″, 280 pounds, gray/blue reported being assaulted by a man with a baseball bat. He refused to press charges and no arrest was made.
Feb. 21 – E.E. Standard was dispatched to 105 Ivory Glenn Court where Vikki Wulf reported two men trying to break into her enclosed utility trailer. She turned on her lights and they fled towards Hood Rd.
PELZER
Feb. 18 – J.L. Martin and A. Land were dispatched to 565 Joe Black Rd. where a father and son had been in an altercation that led to gunfire. Reports state the two were arguing when the 65 year old father shot his 32 year old son with a BB gun. The son took the BB gun away from the father and shot him with it several times, as well as punching him several times. The father then fired one shot from a 20 gauge shotgun into the wall near where the son was standing. At that time the son and his girlfriend fled the residence. When contacted later, the son denied striking his father. Judge Malone declined to issue a warrant for anyone in the case and no arrest was made.
Feb. 18 – A.M. Love was working the desk at ACSO when he received a call from Ashley Davis who reported that her ex-boyfriend had used his ID to fill and obtain her prescription for 30 Valium at Fred’s pharmacy. She wished to press charges.
Feb. 19 – J.D. Sparkman responded to 215 Old River Road where Tony Harper reported being assaulted during an argument, in which a female scratched his eyes and face and reportedly threatened him with a butcher knife. Harper’s wife confirmed the account and both gave written statements. Sparkman planned to present the case to a magistrate.
Feb. 20 – J.T. Bowers was dispatched to the 500 block of Woodcock Road where Justin Poulton reported that he had been chasing a subject who had broken into his uncle’s barn in Greenville County. He said he pursued the subject to Woodcock Road where he came around a curve and found the vehicle stopped and the subject, a white male with tattoos the length of both arms, and a white tank top, out of the car.
He pointed a small handgun at Poulton who backed up and called law enforcement. The vehicle was still there and still running when Bowers arrived. GCSO deputies also responded and had the vehicle towed for forensic examination.
PIEDMONT
Feb. 20- D.L. Brinston responded to 149 Grace Lane where Tara Covington reported that someone had broken into her home and stolen a 24 inch TV as well as money. The loss was estimated at $800.
WILLIAMSTON
Feb. 18 – C.P. Huff and M. McCarty responded to 205 Woodtrail Dr. where William Wood reported that Kari Woody, WF, 24, 5’4″, 117 pounds, blond/blue was inside, intoxicated and belligerent. He said she had slapped a can of spaghetti from his hand. She was placed in cuffs by Deputy McCarty after refusing to obey verbal orders and continuing to yell and be boisterous. She was arrested for assault and battery third degree after a witness on the scene confirmed Wood’s account.
Feb. 20 – R. Anderson responded to 340 Cox Dr. where Ricarda Salmeron complained that someone had entered the house and taken clothing and jewelry belonging to her juvenile daughter and threw them into the pool behind the house. Damage was estimated at $1000.
