Waters running for his seat on Council

Anderson County Councilman Ken Waters announcedthis week that he will seek reelection to serve a second term representing the people of District 6. “I have considered it an honor to serve the people of District 6 and would like to continue to represent the community on the important issues facing Anderson County. We have made a lot of progress, especially as relating to economic development. “ Waters was elected in November 2010 and is currrently serving on the Planning and Public Works Committee and Recycling and Solid Waste Committee. He serves as Chairman of the Public Safety and Health Services Committee.
District 6 encompasses the Powdersville/Piedmont areas East of Hwy. 8. Because of redistricting, District 6 no longer covers all of the White Plains Precinct.
Councilman Waters and his wife Sherry are the parents of three children. The oldest son is a student at Clemson University. Patrick is entering the Air National Guard, and Kensleigh is a student at Wren Middle School. They attend Mt. Airy Baptist Church. Councilman Waters is a member of the US Air Force Reserve and is employed with Duke Energy.
