Phillip E. Clardy will officially announce his intentions to run for mayor of the Town of Williamston next week.

Clardy plans to announce the specifics of his campaign agenda and talk to supporters on Tuesday, April 3 at 5 p.m. on the front door steps of the Williamston Municipal Center.

Clardy served as Williamston’s mayor for two terms, from 2000-2008, after defeating long term mayor Marion Middleton

Current Mayor Carthel Crout narrowly defeated Clardy and former Councilman Otis Scott with just over 50 percent of the vote in a three way race in the 2008 election.
