Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the following:

EASLEY

April 13 – R.M. Cooper responded to 541 Old Pendleton Rd. where a representative of McCall Residential Management reported the theft of the heat pump from that location. The loss was estimated at $2500.

April13 – R.M. Cooper responded to 3600 Hwy. 153 where a new Hickory Pointe convenience store is under construction. Steve Branyon, of Finley Builders, reported the theft of a quantity of seven foot lengths of steel pipe, valued at $2700.

April 13 – R.D. Smith responded to 116 Blackbird Lane where Tabitha Tarnofillo, WF, 34, 5’8″, 240 pounds reported that she and her boyfriend David Hopkins, WM, 34, 5’8″ 230 pounds, had been arguing when he struck her in the back of the head and shoved a computer off the desk. He was taken into custody and transported to ACDC.

PELZER

April 14 – M.W. Hunnicutt responded to 208 Smith Drive where Lisa Rackley reported that someone had stolen a trailer valued at $2600 from her yard.

PIEDMONT

April 13 – J.A. Bannister was on patrol on Hwy. 153 when he located a car in the Arby’s parking lot that was reported stolen from Greenville County.

April 13 – R.M. Cooper responded to 305 Shiloh Rd. where Michael Bagwell reported the theft of copper wire, copper pipes, and a black utility trailer, all valued at $1750.

April13 – P.D. Marter responded to 129 Beardsley Rd. where Michael Barnett reported laptop computer taken from the residence. The loss was estimated at $525.

April 15 – J.D. Sparkman was dispatched to 508 Hurricane Creek Rd. where Stephanie Quillen reported the theft of electronics, a computer, jewelry and household goods valued at $3000.

WILLIAMSTON

April 13 – J.L. Martin and C.M. Turner responded to a report of a disturbance at 308 Anita Court. At that location, Katie Hicks reported that Thomas McDonald had come to her house drunk and uninvited. He became loud and hostile, when he was told to leave. While on the scene, the deputies were advised by dispatch that McDonald had called 911 and told dispatch he was at 342 Wesley Ellison Road and he was armed. He further stated he would shoot any police who showed up. Upon arriving at that scene, the two deputies saw McDonald come out of a tree line near his home. He was challenged at gunpoint and taken into custody. A .32 caliber handgun was found in the trees. He was arrested for breach of the peace. Judge Mahone declined any additional charges.

April 14 –C. Whitfield was on his way home at the end of his shift when dispatch reported that a state trooper was in pursuit of a car nearby. Whitfield responded to help if possible. He became involved in the pursuit at H.I. Taylor Road and Hwy. 29 N where the vehicle was driving into oncoming traffic. The pursuit continued to the intersection of Hwy. 29 and Hwy. 8, where Sgt. Digirolamo deployed stop sticks which punctured two of the green Lincoln’s tires. Still, the driver refused to stop and drove onto Old River Road and eventually back onto Highway 20 and then onto W. Carolina St. where the driver’s residence was. He drove into his yard and around his house before being stopped. Stephen Williams, BM, 18, 6’2″, 170 pounds, was taken into custody, after further resisting arrest.

April 14 – J.D. Sparkman responded to 5049 Highway 29 N. to the Green South facility, where Lynn Stallings reported that several lawn mowers had been moved to the front gate area, apparently in an effort to steal them. None were taken.
