JAMES G. TOLLISON
PELZER – James Guyton Tollison, 77, of 3625 West Georgia Road, husband of Evelyn Annabelle Smith Tollison, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Hosanna Health and Rehab of Piedmont.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late James Peter and Bertha Bridges Tollison. He retired from John D. Hollingsworth on Wheels. Mr. Tollison formerly served as a deacon at Wren Baptist Church and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and the Oak Grove Baptist Church Men’s Bible Class.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Denise Cothran and her husband, Rick, of Piedmont; sons, Michael Tollison and his wife, Kathy, of Williamston, and Danny Tollison and his wife, Karen, of Piedmont; sisters, Catherine Hughes and Betty Sue Bryson, both of Piedmont, and Carolyn Bryson, of Williamston; grandchildren and their spouses, Christie Shealy (Chuck), Brian Tollison (Jessica), Nick Tollison (Brittany), Cyndi Durham (Scott), Joey Tollison and Josh Tollison (Melissa); and nine great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Ruby Wilson, Hazel Yates and Judy Matheson.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Porter and the Rev. Gene Neely officiating. Members of the Oak Grove Baptist Church Men’s Bible Class served as honorary pallbearers. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home of Denise and Rick Cothran, 355 Browning Road, Piedmont.

ANN BRYANT
PIEDMONT – Ms. Shirley Ann Bryant, 62, of 3118 River Rd., passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at McCall Hospice House.
Born October 17, 1949 in Greenville County, she was a daughter of Ruth Sanders Bryant of Piedmont and the late Joe Worley Bryant. She was a Christian who had a passion for the Lord and was a devoted aunt.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brothers, Glenn Bryant (Jo), Herbert Bryant (Sally) and Jerry Bryant (Deb); sisters, Eunice Tucker (Arliss), Linda Smith (Louie) and Wanda Rowland (James); and sister-in-law, Violet Bryant.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Donnie Bryant, Sr.
Funeral services were conducted at 12:00 PM Friday, May 25, 2012 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with Rev. Bobby Inman, Jr. and Derrick Elgin officiating. Burial followed in Graceland Cemetery, West.
The family received friends from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her mother, 3116 River Rd., Piedmont, SC 29673.

RUTH HAMMOND
WILLIAMSTON – Ruth Clark Hammond, 81, widow of Charles Larry Hammond, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Calvin Benjamin and Annie Maude Vanadore Clark. She was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was active in the XYZ Club. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are daughter, Nancy Lynn (Michael) Henderson of Williamston; son, Terry Alan (Cheryl) Hammond of Piedmont; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by six sisters, six brothers, and one grandson.
Visitation was held 2-3 pm Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
Funeral services followed at 3 pm Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

AMY LEE CROMER
Amy Lee Cromer, 48, died in Piedmont.
She was born in Florence County, the daughter of Gladys Pigate Lee and the late David M. Lee. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church, Greenville area.
Surviving are her husband, Stephen Cromer; daughters, Emily Cromer of Piedmont and Megan Cromer of Columbia; sisters, Susan Anthony and Ren Vallier, both of Timmonsville.
Funeral service was held Monday at Sardis Baptist Church in Timmonsville. Interment followed at Bethany Baptist Church near Timmonsville.

CLARENCE HALL
Clarence Hayward “Shorty” Hall, 89, formerly of Anderson, died at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston, GA on Friday, May 25, 2012.
Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late John Walter Hall and the late Corrie Dell Taylor Hall.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughters, Martha Smith of Williamston, Debbie Rogers of Anderson; sisters, Hazel Blume of Burgaw, NC, Kathleen Scarborough of Milledgeville, GA, Edna Poore and Emogene “Jean” Welborn, both of Anderson; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Elizabeth Fowler Hall.
Funeral service was held May 28 in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

JO ANN DAVENPORT
Jo Ann Bunton Davenport, 65, of Piedmont, died Monday, May 28, 2012, at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Herman Bennett and Genevieve Nalley Ellenburg Bunton. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Tonya Davenport Scott of Pelzer, and Amber Davenport Matheny of Williamston; son, Tyler Davenport of Pelzer; brothers, Donnie Bunton Ray Bunton both of Williamston, and Ted Bunton of Pelzer; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012, at New Hope Baptist Church with funeral services following at 4 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
The family is at the residence.

JEFF POWELL
Jeffrey Scott “Jeff” Powell, 34, of Liberty died Monday, May 28, 2012.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Thomas Earl “Tommy” Powell.
He owned and operated his own landscaping company for several years and attended Rock Springs Baptist Church in Easley.
Surviving are his wife, Andrea Bagwell Powell of the home; son, Jacob Powell of the home; daughter, Brantley Powell of the home; mother and step-father, Joyce and Don Porter of Pendleton; brother, Jason Powell of Norris; step-mother, Debra Powell of Liberty; step-brother, Chris Campbell of Williamston; step-sister, Trudi Winstead of Tamassee.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

NANCY PAYNE WATERS
Nancy Payne Waters, 75, of Greenville, died Saturday, May 27, 2012.
She was the wife of the late Gwain Waters and the daughter of the late James Payne and the late Ressie Day Payne.
She was a homemaker and a member of Carpenters Chapel.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Waters Flower of Conestee and Nannette Waters Greer of Pelzer; son, Ricky G. Waters of Conestee; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Wednesday at Cannon Funeral Home Jones Chapel, Simpsonville. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
