Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the theft of a vehicle, tools and other items at various locations throughout the county. Among incidents investigated: EASLEY – June 22- R.D Smith responded to 509 Lia Way where Steven McLellan, owner of McLellan Upstate Auto Finder, reported the theft of a 2002 Ford F-150 truck, bearing tag X302162, and containing tags X302166 and X302167. The loss was estimated at $6000.
June 23 – Cpl. K.D. Pigman responded to 126 Stillwater Dr. where Andrea Rice reported the theft of her 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The loss was estimated at $5000.
June 25 – J.T. Bowers was dispatched to 918 Old Pendleton Rd. where Julia McGee reported that someone had broken into her vehicle. Nothing appeared to have been taken, but a four wheeler, a back pack, leaf blower and a Stihl chainsaw were missing from a nearby shed.
PELZER
June 22- P.D. Marter was dispatched to 80 Main St. where Christy Moody reported that the in-store video at the Sav-Way recorded a store employee, putting numerous packs of cigarettes in her personal bag and carrying them out without paying for them. The events took place over several days. The loss was estimated at $240. The investigation is underway and no warrants have been issued at this time.
June 22 – J.W. Blair and J.D. Sparkman responded to 123 F F Family Circle where Rosa Garland reported Randy Hartsell, WM, 44, 6’2″, 185 pounds, brn/blue, had thrown a brick at her car breaking the windshield and the driver’s side rear window. Hartsell confirmed that he did and was arrested for public disorderly conduct and malicious injury to personal property.
June 23 – Cpl. K.D. Pigman responded to Experimental Fabrics on Easley Hwy. where Max Jones reported someone had forced the door, damaging it. The damage was estimated at $100.
PIEDMONT
June 22- R.D. Smith was dispatched to 1115 Hall Rd. where Earnest Hall reported a Hewlett Packard laptop and Samsung smart phone missing. Due to lack of evidence, Judge Malone refused to issue a warrant.
June 23 – C.M. Ashe responded to 602 Anderson St. where Melissa Taylor, manager of the Dollar General Store reported that a white male, 5’10″, with brown hair and tattoos on both arms tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill. The store refused it. He left in a white Taurus bearing SC tag# HDS998. While on the scene, Ashe was informed by central dispatch that the same man had tried to pass the bill at the One Day At a Time thrift store nearby. Efforts to locate the vehicle there were unsuccessful.
June 25 – E.E. Standard responded to 141 Country Manorr Rd. to the Direct TV business located there. Scott Marshal reported that someone had drilled a hole in the gas tank of one of the trucks, causing the loss of the fuel and damage estimated at $250.
WILLIAMSTON
June 23 – C.P. Huff responded to 15 Tripp St. where Tommy Aye, BM, 59, reported medical supplies stolen from him. Huff planned to seek a warrant from a magistrate.
June 23 – C.P. Huff was on patrol in the Anderson Highway and Beaverdam Road area when a vehicle pulled out in front of him, almost causing an accident. The vehicle had its flashers on. Huff initiated a traffic stop and the subject pulled over after driving another half mile, while weaving to and fro. The driver, Marlyn Rodriguez, Hispanic male, 30, 5’9″, 165 pounds, admitted that he was driving under suspension. Central Dispatch confirmed that his license was suspended for DUI and he was listed as an active Habitual Offender. He was arrested and transported to ACDC.
June 24 – C. Martin was dispatched to 106 Old Field Circle where Patricia Fricks, WF, 49, reported that her daughter punched her in the face after Fricks refused to let her use her phone. Martin planned to seek a warrant the next day for assault.
June 24 – C.M. Turner responded to 419 Spearman Rd. where Roger Jordan reported that someone had destroyed his mailbox, valued at $30.
