MELVIN HAMMONDS
Melvin Curtis Hammonds, 49, died June 19, 2012 at Wallace Thomson Hospital in Union.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Melvin Leroy and Shirley Louise Vinson Hammonds.
Memorial services will follow at a later date.

BETTY CHAPMAN FISHER
A memorial service for Betty Chapman Fisher, daughter of the late Amos and Mary Johnson Chapman was held Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Moores Chapel United Methodist Church in Pelzer.
Surviving are a son, Eric Fisher of Piedmont; sisters, Joe Stella, Dorothy Thomason, Mozell Mims and Blondell Chapman; brothers, Paul Chapman and David Chapman.

WILLIAM RICHARD ‘DICKY’ MCCLELLION, JR
ANDERSON – William Richard “Dicky” McClellion, Jr., 65, of 102 Savannah Drive, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Anmed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late William Richard McClellion, Sr. and Sara Lois Cobb McClellion.
He was an attorney and current owner of the Anderson Jockey Lot, which was established by the late D.C. Bryson.  His football prowess took him from Palmetto High School to Furman University and on to the USC School of Law.
Surviving are sons, William Richard “Mac” McClellion, III, Joseph Michael “Mich” McClellion, Matthew Cobb “Jet” McClellion, all of Anderson; daughters, Amanda Caron McClellion Downs and Sara Elizabeth McClellion, both of Anderson; sister, Mary Jane Carraway of Anderson; grandchildren, Chase Phillip McDermott and Erin Gayle Downs, both of Anderson.
He was predeceased by a brother, John Lee McClellion.
The family received friends 3-5 pm Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
Graveside services were held 6 pm Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

BILL AND ROBERTA ALEXANDER
WEST PELZER—Walter “Bill” Alexander, Jr., 88, of 4 Dendy Street, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. His wife, Roberta Turner Alexander, 88, joined him on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.
Born in Pelzer, Roberta was a daughter of the late James Carl and Marie Duncan Turner. She was a former supervisor at Dan Manufacturing, a member of the Eastern Star, and a member of West Pelzer Baptist Church.
Bill, born in Pelzer, was a son of the late Walter and Louise Wright Alexander. A veteran of the Army Air Force, he was also a former lineman at Southern Railroad. He retired from Fiber Celenese and was active in civic affairs as the former mayor of West Pelzer and member of the town council. He was a member of Pelzer Masonic Lodge #217, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner. He was a past captain of Hejaz Country Boys and a member of West Pelzer Baptist Church.
They are survived by sons Gary Alexander and his wife Pat, and Robert “Stinker” Alexander, all of West Pelzer, SC; Bill’s sisters Dora Ford of Atlanta, GA, and Mae Case of Greenville, SC; Roberta’s sister Betty Lynn of West Pelzer, SC; grandsons Chris, Wes, and David Alexander, granddaughter Turner Moore; and great-grandsons Chase and Jarrett Alexander.
Visitation was 12:30-2:00 p.m. Saturday at West Pelzer Baptist Church. The service was 2:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Randall Smith officiating. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family is at the residence.

TOOTSIE BENNETT
FLETCHER, NC—Frances Dianne “Tootsie” Bennett, 63, of Beystone Nursing Home, died Friday, June 22, 2012, at Parkridge Hospital in Hendersonville, NC.
Born in Pelzer, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Roy and Leona Garner Bennett. She retired from The Kendall Company in Pelzer.
She is survived by sisters Lisa Bennett (John) Sherard of Greenville and Peggy Bennett (Charles) King of Williamston; brother John Bennett of Pelzer; nephews John Roy Bennett III of Pelzer; Tyler Sherard of Williamston; and Ben Sherard of Greenville; and niece Katie King of Williamston.
Visitation was 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday at Gray Mortuary. The service followed in Gray Mortuary Chapel 2:00 p.m. Monday. Burial followed at Pinelawn Cemetery.
The family is at their respective homes.

KAYLA QUICK
ANDERSON—Kayla Marie Glover Quick, 22, of 206 Paddock Road, wife of Micheal Wayne Quick, died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Anmed Health.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of David Wayne Glover of Anderson and Julia Onion Horne of Williamston. She formerly worked at Chick-Fil-A on Clemson Boulevard in Anderson. Kayla was a homemaker and a member of Eastview Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Liam Micheal Quick, both of the home; her parents; grandparents Michael and Joyce Onion of Belton and Etta Glover of Williamston; brothers and sisters, Jenifer Hacket of Williamston, Laura Meeks of Apopka, FL, David Isaac Glover, Mikenzi Glover, Solomon Dean Horne, all of Williamston; Chloe King, Samantha Davis, and Hannah Rose Clark, all of Anderson.
She was predeceased by her grandfather “Spike” Glover.
Visitation was 6:00-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gray Mortuary. Services were Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Eastview Baptist Church, 120 Eastview Road, Pelzer. Burial followed at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Belton.
The family is at their respective homes.

LINDA ADRAGNA
Linda Rochelle Satterfield Adragna, 71, of Williamston, wife of Frank Joseph Adragna, Sr., died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at her home.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late James Joseph and Sara Sanders Satterfield.  She was formerly employed by G.E. in Greenville and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anderson.
In addition to her husband of the home, she is survived by her sons, Michael Joseph Adragna and Frank Joseph Adragna, Jr., both of Williamston; daughter, Lisa Michele Mize of Pelzer; brother William Satterfield of Taylors; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were held Tuesday at Gray Mortuary Chapel.  Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.

EUNICE CHAPMAN
Eunice Mae Owens Chapman, 89, of Williamston, widow of Harold Carlisle Chapman, died June 22, 2012 at her home.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Sid and Sally King Owens.  She was retired from Cushman Mills and a member of Southside Baptist Church in Piedmont.
Surviving are children, Nora Mae Jones of Williamston, Bobbie Jean Moulder of Ringold, GA, Harold C. Chapman, Jr. of Belton, Billy Ray Chapman of Belton, Teresa Sellers of West Pelzer; 21 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
Funeral services were held Monday at Southside Baptist Church.  Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home of Miranda (Mandy) Bilbray, 127 West First Street, Williamston.

‘BOB’ HAUSER
Robert “Bob” Ray Hauser, 66, of Pelzer, husband of Norma Eloise Lancaster Hauser, died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in TN.
Born in Oakland, Maryland, he was a son of the late Harold H. Hauser and Ethel Lewis Powell.  He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a charter member of Highland Baptist Church in Cumberland, Maryland.  He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran and formerly employed in the construction industry.
Surviving are his wife of the home; stepchildren, Cindy Wilson of Pelzer, George Wilson of Williamston; two brothers, Tom and Jack Hauser, both of Oakland, Maryland; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held  Sunday in the Chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

EUNICE SUMMERALL NEWTON
Eunice Roberta Stancel Summerall Newton, 78, of Liberty, died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Walhalla she was the widow of the late Hansel Summerall, Sr. and a daughter of the late Jess and Cora Lee Aiken Stancel. She was retired from Alice Manufacturing and was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Polly Ann Cole of Easley and Barbara Phagan of Greenville; six sons, David Summerall of Pelzer; Jessie, Marshall and James Summerall all of Easley, Harold Summerall of Greenville and Hansel Summerall, Jr. of Piedmont; sister, Jody Aiken of Liberty; brother, Earl Stancel of Easley; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Sunday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed at Westview Cemetery.

MISTY DARLENE FOWLER ASKINS
Misty Darlene Fowler Askins, wife of Don Askins died Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of James Stephens Fowler of Belton and Patricia Ann Williams Childs of Belton. She attended Restoration Chapel.
Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are: sons, Jeremy Lee Basquette of Pickens and Jonathan Brandon James of Williamston; daughters, Jayden Danielle Askins of Williamston and Jasmine Brooke Burdette of Anderson; half-sisters, Tracy Whitten of Pelzer, Beth Dodgens of Starr and Amy Mann of Anderson.
Graveside service was held Saturday at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Burial followed.

VIOLET WATKINS
Violet Robertson Watkins, 87, widow of Ted Watkins, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Fountain Inn, she was a daughter of the late Fred Lee and Willie Mae Henderson Robertson. She formerly worked at Milliken and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sisters Betty Johnson of Greer, Jean Reid, and Fay Bridges, both of Simpsonville; and brother Ray Robertson of Fountain Inn.
Funeral Services were Tuesday at Gray Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Mausoleum.
