Correction – In last week’s story concerning the EMS contract, The Journal mistakenly reported that Pelzer Rescue Squad Board of Directors Chairman Danny Durham called DHEC to register a complaint. That was a misunderstanding. Durham called the DHEC offices to seek information on the issue but did not file a complaint. Also, the story stated that each squad received an additional $2500 per year in operating expenses, with Pelzer receiving double that amount, since they currently cover Powdersville as well. Those amounts apply monthly, not annually. The Journal regrets the errors.
