Binnicker named Director of Secondary Education

Anderson School District One and the School Board of Trustees have named Robbie Binnicker to be the new Director of Secondary Education for Anderson School District One. He has been serving as principal at Wren High for the past 11 years.

“I am very excited and honored to be given the opportunity to work at the district level in Anderson One,” Binnicker said “I am very aware of the excellent reputation of the district and know first-hand the supportive environment that has been established. I look forward to working with the school and district leadership teams as well as district teachers.”

Binnicker has served Wren High School for many years. He has 7 years classroom experience as a science teacher, 4 years as an assistant principal and also was an athletic coach for Wren High. He holds a masters degree in Administration and Supervision from Clemson University. His undergraduate work was also completed at Clemson University in Biological Science.

Superintendent Dr. Wayne Fowler said, “Robbie Binnicker is an outstanding leader. He was the 2012 South Carolina Secondary Principal of the Year. Through his leadership, Wren High School was named Palmetto’s Finest High School in 2011. The administration and school board believe that Mr. Binnicker will be an effective district level administrator.

He is married to Allyson Binnicker, who is a local realtor. He has three children attending the Wren area schools.

Binnicker is filling the position vacated by former Director of Secondary Education, Dr. John Pruitt, who recently retired. Mr. Binnicker will assume his new duties at the district office on August 1, 2012.
