The Tour De LaFrance began just a few short years ago as a fund-raising event for the fight against cancer. This year, for the second year in a row, amateur and professional cyclists will compete in the Labor Day Omnium and Fourth Annual Tour De LaFrance event, consisting of three days of racing.

Beginning with racing at the Hartwell Dam on Friday, August 31, and ending with a free community concert at the Celebrate Anderson event at the Anderson Civic Center on Sunday evening, the weekend will be filled with activities.

Following the Friday racing at the Lake Hartwell Dam, the action will move to the Civic Center with full racing days on both Saturday and Sunday. Beginning at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, races will be held throughout the day until 6 p.m. Sunday, the events will start at 9 a.m. and finish at 4 p.m., just an hour and fifteen minutes before the gates open for the free concert in the amphitheater.

The band Seven Nations will be featured.
