LONNIE ALLEN ‘AL’ WATTS

Lonnie Allen “Al” Watts, 64, of Fountain Inn, husband of Susan Marie Watts, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012.
Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Lonnie Briscoe Watts.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Williamston.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are two sisters, Linda Johnson and Debbie Brown; and brother, Sam Watts.
Funeral service was held September 28 at Calvary Baptist Church. Entombment followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

DOROTHY MAE GREEN
Dorothy Mae Green, 80, of Pelzer, wife of Dewitt Talmadge Green, Jr., died Wednesday, September 26, 2012.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Morris James and Olive Taylor Satterfield.
She retired from Kemet Electronics and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Janice Burns and Sherry Coffey; two sons, Mike Green and Talmadge Green; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Satterfield.
Funeral service was held Sept. 29 in the Southeast Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Burial followed in Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

SPARTA – Mrs. Dorothy L. “Dot” Garrett Watkins, age 88, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 2PM at Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville with Rev. Alan McCoy officiating.
Mrs. Watkins was a native of West Pelzer, South Carolina and had made her home in Sparta. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Annie Humphries Garrett and was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren. She attended Sparta Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters Linda (Richard) Brooks of Sparta and Melany Joan Bean of Ft. Myers, FL; 4 grandchildren 16 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, Georgia 30346.

HAMMIE FARR, JR.
Hammie Farr, Jr., 79, of Piedmont, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service was held Saturday at United House of Prayer with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

SAMUEL JOHN LESLIE ‘STIMME’ BOGGS
Samuel John Leslie “Stimme” Boggs, 39, formerly of Greenville, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 in Skagway, Alaska.
Born in Greenville, he was  the son of Lloyd and Mildred Lackey Boggs.
He was employed with the National Park Service of Alaska and the Border Patrol.
He is survived by two brothers, Bud Boggs of Pelzer and Joe Boggs of Inman; and one sister, Cindi Boggs Guthrie of Inman.
A memorial service was held Sat., Sept. 29 in Hatcher Garden.

RICHARD TALMADGE ‘R.T.’ BLYTHE
Richard Talmadge “R.T.” Blythe, 77, widower of Martha Ann Crowder Blythe formerly of West Pelzer died September 28, 2012 at Fellowship Health and Rehab.
Born in Honea Path, SC he was the son of the late Richard Labon and Beatrice Gilmer Blythe. He retired from MP Huskey and was of the Church of God faith.
Surviving are: daughters, Tammy Murphy and husband Cliff of Williamston and Kimberly Harrell and husband Mark of Jacksonville, FL.; sisters, Violet Stone of Belton, Thelma Simpson of Pelzer and Juanita O’Kelly of Macon GA; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by children, Tina Helton and Robert Blythe; brother, Arvon Blythe and great grandson, Brodie Blythe.
Graveside service was held at 3:00pm Monday at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaplain Mike Linkins officiating. Burial followed.
The family received friends after the service at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Ark Hospice at 101 Grace Dr., Easley, SC 29640.
The family will be at the residence of Mr. Blythe’s granddaughter, Melanie Murphy at 557 Willingham Rd., Williamston, SC.

ROBERT LEE  WILLIAMS, JR.
Robert Lee Williams, Jr. 79 of Cave Springs, Arkansas formerly of Williamston, South Carolina passed away September 27, 2012 in the Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale.  He was born December 22, 1932 in Williamston, South Carolina the son of Robert Lee and Sybil Cartee Williams.  He retired from the United States Air Force; he was a Lutheran and enjoyed playing golf.  Robert is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard Williams and his 2nd wife Dolly Williams of Oklahoma.
Survived by his son Robert Lee Williams, III of Evans, Georgia; his daughter Cheryl A. Matuscak of Cave Springs, Arkansas; his former wife Betty Loggins Cruikshank of Evans, Georgia; his sister Carol Williams of Williamston, South Carolina; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., October 5, 2012 at the MJ “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, South Carolina (864) 332-8022. Donations to Hospice in lieu of flowers.

NOAH THRASHER
Noah Harold Thrasher, 51, of Williamston, husband of Wanda Patton Thrasher, died Saturday, September 29, 2012, at AnMed Health.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Samuel William and Charlie Lee Norris Thrasher.  He was currently employed by Southern Heart Pine Restorers.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; brothers, Grover Thrasher of Temple, GA, and Lawrence Thrasher of Williamston; and sisters, O’della Fuller of Easley, Geraldine Cooley of Honea Path, Annie Mae Everette of Piedmont, and Janie Wood of Williamston.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Gray Mortuary Chapel.  Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

DARREN FORD
Michael Darren Ford, 42, of West Pelzer, died Saturday, September 29, 2012, at his home.
Born in Anderson, he was the son of Rev. William Michael and Sherry Jane Eskew Ford.
In addition to his parents, of Calhoun Falls, he is survived by a sister Teresa J. Norton of Pelzer; and grandparents, William “Bill” Eskew of Pelzer, and Nearldine Ford of West Pelzer.
Funeral services were Wednesday at Gray Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home of Nearldine Ford, 17 Burkett St., W. Pelzer.

BARBARA TRAYNHAM
Barbara Ann Traynham, 58, of Pelzer, widow of the late John B. Rogers, died, Friday, September 28, 2012.
Born November 16, 1953, to the late Delk Grover and Lucille Henderson Traynham.  She was a lifetime member of Waycross Baptist Church and the Waycross community.
She is survived by two sons, John B. Rogers, Jr. of the home, and Delk E. Rogers of Summerville; two sisters, Laura T. Coleman of Piedmont, and Sandra T. Mosley of Waterloo.
Graveside services were held Monday, October 1 at Greenville Memorial Gardens.  The family is at the home of her sister, Laura Coleman, in Piedmont.

MARGARET GILREATH FRANK
Margaret Gilreath Frank, 62, widow of Larry Frank, died Friday, September 28, 2012.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of Frances Cooley Gilreath of Belton and the late Virgil E. Gilreath.
She was the owner of Larry Frank’s Auto Body Works, Inc., as well as L&M Storage Facility.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Robin Jernigan of Piedmont and Larry Joe Frank of Greenville; one brother, Steve Gilreath of Belton; and two grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, Oct. 2 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home in the Downtown Chapel. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JOHN ‘BUCKEYE’ TAYLOR
John Willard “Buckeye” Taylor, 85, of West Pelzer, died Monday, September 24, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.  Born in Pelzer, he was the son of the late Austin Wilkes and Jessie Tripp Taylor.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and Navy.  No services are planned at this time.  -Gray Mortuary, Pelzer

‘JAMIE’ HAYES
James “Jamie” Robert Hayes, 31, of Belton, husband of Maredith Green Hayes, died September 30, 2012 at his home.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Billy Ray “Gabby” and Pam Ellison Hayes.
Surviving are sister, Dawn Hayes Calvert of Williamston;  biological parents, Beth Engel of Anderson, Herbert “Herbie” DeWitt of White Plains, NY.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 pm Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
Funeral services will follow at 3pm in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
The family is at the home of Dawn Calvert, 311 S. Green Street, Williamston.
