O’Dell recognized by SCEDA –  SCEDA Executive Director Keely Yates presents Sen. Billy O’Dell with a plaque recognizing him as the South Carolina Economic Developer’s Association Legislator of the Year.

The South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association (SCEDA) recently named SC House Member Brian White and SC Senator Billy O’Dell recipients of the 2012 SC Economic Developers’ Association Legislator of the Year Awards.

“It is an honor to serve with these two gentlemen,” said Anderson County Legislative Delegation chairman Mike Gambrell. “Anderson County is fortunate and has reaped the benefits of their appreciation of our county’s assets and their dedication and commitment to improving the quality of life of all our citizens.”

“SC House Member Brian White and Senator Billy O’Dell are vital members of our Anderson County Economic Development Team,” said County Council Chairman Tom Allen. “We are pleased to join SCEDA in honoring their very worthwhile efforts to expand our county’s business community.”

According to two releases provided by SCEDA, the SC Legislature “supported and approved measures that strengthen South Carolina’s ability to attract jobs and capital investment from data centers, support improvements to Charleston Harbor and clarify the Pollution Control Act, as well as provide funds for worker training.”
