Meals on Wheels-Anderson is seeking volunteers to serve as drivers to make meal deliveries to the elderly, homebound and disabled of Anderson County. “Volunteers are the backbone of the organization delivering a hot meal and a warm smile to people who may have no other meal or personal contact if it were not for Meals on Wheels,” a spokesperson said.
Volunteers are needed for delivery routes in the city of Anderson, as well as outlying areas in the county. Volunteers will pick up meals at the Meals on Wheels office and drive a specific route to deliver the meals. It is usually about an hour-and-a-half process.
More than 600 people rely on Meals on Wheels for a daily meal and friendly hello, and the organization relies on volunteers!
