Voters go to the polls Nov. 6

The following candidates are running for local offices:

Running unopposed for the State Senate are incumbents Sen. Kevin Bryant (District 3) and Sen. Billy O’Dell (District 4).

Running unopposed for the S.C. State House are Brian White, District 6; Michael Gambrell, District 7; Anne Thayer District 9; and Joshua Putnam, District 10. All of these candidates are running as Republicans.

In District 8, incumbent Don Bowen faces opposition from Michael Carmany and Ted W. Luckadoo.

Those running for District One School Trustee are Mike Wilson, Area 2; David “Moochie” Merritt, Area 3; Brenda S. Ellison and Ricky L. Bell, Area 6.

Running for the Big Creek Watershed Board from District 4 is Al Rentz. There are two seats available.

Running for the board of Broadmouth Creek Watershed District 5 are Joe Pinson and Carroll Ross. There are three seats available.

Running for the District 7 seat on the Brushy Creek Watershed board are Adelaide M. Gantt and Eric McConnell. There are two seats available.

There are four candidates for the three available seats on the Three and Twenty Watershed board. They are J. Mark Bishop, Phil Tripp, W.H. McAbee, III, and Leonard Williams.

Elizabeth G. Pack and Rudy F. Rhodes are running unopposed for two available seats on the Piedmont Public Service Commission.

In Williamston, three candidates are running for the Ward 4 seat on Williamston Town Council. They are Otis Scott, Elaine Wilson and Mike Looper. Running for Ward 3 Town Council are Mike Smith and David Harvell and for Mayor, Carthel Crout, Mack Durham and Phillip Clardy.

Of course voters will also choose who they want for President and Vice President. Election day is scheduled for Tuesday, November 6.
