Anderson County Sheriff’s Divers have discovered a second barrel in Lake Hartwell containing human remains. The barrel was located in Lake Hartwell near the intersection of Centerville Rd and Sandy Springs Rd. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) morning to try to identify the person’s remains found in the second barrel.
On Tuesday afternoon, Anderson County Sheriff’s Investigators located a suspicious barrel near Asbury Park at Lake Hartwell in Anderson, The barrel was opened Wednesday morning by investigators and personnel from the Coroner’s Office. The barrel was found to contain human female remains. The body has been identified, but the identity will not be released until the family has been notified. The investigation into the cause and manner of the female’s death continues.
