The Williamston Christmas Parade will be held December 8 at 3 p.m.. Theme for the parade will be “Keep Christ in Christmas.” Parade Chairman Walter Smith, Sr. said there is no fee to enter the annual parade, but encourages entrants to bring plenty of candy.

The parade will begin at the traffic light at Hamilton St. and Greenville Dr. and will end at Calvary Baptist Church.

Registration forms are available at the Williamston Municipal Center or participants can call Town Hall at 847-7473 and give a name and type of entry. A registration form must be filled out for an entry to be judged, Smith said. Registration deadline for judging is Thursday, Dec. 6.

Numbers can be picked up the day of the parade at the line up which will be held at Fort Hill Gas offices on Hamilton St. beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at 2:50 p.m. Line up will be a double line on Hamilton St.

Participants not being judged can register the day of the parade, Smith said. Judges will be located in front of the Williamston Municipal Center. Performances should be done only in front of the judges at this location and limited to three minutes to allow the parade to continue moving. All entries are asked to proceed to the ending point. Horses will be at the rear. Only the official parade Santa will be allowed.

Winners will be announced and trophies will be awarded where the judges are located at Town Hall immediately following the parade.
