WALLACE BERRY HUFF
Wallace Berry Huff, 74, of Piedmont, husband of Bobbie Jean Huff, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Ware and Lillie Huff.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from Clyde Morgan Automotive.
He was a member of Berea First Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are, son, Barry Lee Huff; one granddaughter; two sisters, Helen Reeves and Virginia Woodson.
A graveside service was held November 30 at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.

WILLIE J. CHAPMAN
Willie J. Chapman, 58, of Greenville, died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Albert and Aresenia Perkins Chapman.
Surviving are wife, Teresa Chapman; daughter, Udrieka Freeman of Greenville; sisters, Alberta Langston, Betty Baker, Sarah Brock, and Alice Hill, all of Greenville, and Doris Commander of Piedmont; brother, James Albert Chapman of Greenville; and two grandchildren.
Funeral service was held November 30 at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

MARTIN ‘TONY’ BALLENGER
Martin Anthony “Tony” Ballenger, 59, of Piedmont, died November 28, 2012.
He was the son of Betty Bishop Ballenger and the late Samuel Martin Ballenger.
He was a Master Controller for Channel 4 News and was a photography teacher at Greenville Technical College.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are brothers, Jeffrey T. Ballenger of Easley, and Scott S. Ballenger of Dcusville.
Funeral service was held Saturday, December 1 at Tanglewood Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Tanglewood Baptist Church Roof Fund.

ROBERTA JONES BRAZEAL
Roberta Jones Brazeal, of Easley, died on Monday, November 26, 2012 at her home.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Nuck and Virgie Hagood Jones.
Surviving are sons, James W. Breazeale, III of Greenville and William Ervin Breazeale of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Karen Regina Nedwards of Powdersville, J. Lynn Robinson of Piedmont; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Phamon Jones of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters, Ollie Talley, Lakie Butler, Annie Jones-Dirton, and Virginia Griffin.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

RALPH JULIUS SHERIFF, SR.
Ralph J. Sheriff, 90, husband of Vietta Sheriff, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his home.
Graveside services were held December 1 in Graceland West Cemetery.

REV. JAMES W. BOOKER, SR.
Rev. James W. Booker, Sr.,  80, died Tuesday, November 27 at Magnolia Manor in Greenville.
Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Issac Booker, Sr. and Willie Mae Brockman Booker.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Ruth Mims Booker of the home; daughters, Joyce Fruster of Piedmont, Valerie Neely of Greenville; son,  Rev. James Booker, Jr. of Greenville; sister, Emma Lee Booker of Greenwood; brother, Issac Booker, Jr. of Easley; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Rock Hill Baptist Church #1. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

OTTIS HARRISON
Ottis Thomas Harrison, 94, of Williamston, widower of Edith Elizabeth Bagwell Harrison, died Friday, November 30, 2012.
Born in Franklin, GA, he was a son of the late Thomas Harrison and Bessie Kelly Harrison.  He was retired from the Kendall Co., and a member of Williamston First Baptist Church.  He served in the S.C. National Guard.
Surviving is his daughter, Sandra Jean Harrison of Simpsonville.
Funeral service was held  Monday, December 3 at the Williamston First Baptist Church.
Burial followed in White Plains Baptist Church cemetery.

EDITH D. LEWIS
Edith Geraldine Dorr Lewis, 84, of Pickens, wife of the late Clifford Alexander Lewis, died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at her home.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Waymon Otis Dorr and Clovie Anthony Dorr.
She was a homemaker, was formerly employed with The Singer Company and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are children, Katherine Lewis Keith of Pickens, Paul Lewis of Pelzer, Jacqueline Lewis Beavers of Easley, Sandra Lewis Thomas of Pickens, and Libby Lewis Medlin of Pickens; ten grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 4 in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

‘JIMMY’ HOWARD
Silas Norwood “Jimmy” Howard, 64, of Piedmont, husband of Diane Howard, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Corbert Norwood Howard and Dora Belle Porter Howard.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are daughter, Dora Jean Pursch of Indiana; sons, Jody Mac Howard of the home, Ricky Howard of Piedmont; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service was held  Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Rehoboth Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Rehoboth Baptist Church Building Fund, 1620 Old Pelzer Rd., Piedmont, SC 29673.

DOROTHY PUTMAN KERNS
Dorothy Putman Kerns, 84, of Taylors, wife of Jack Dempsey Kerns, Sr., died Thursday, November 29, 2012.
Born in Slater, she was a daughter of the late Boyce and Willie Putman.
She was a member of Kentland Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to her husband are four children, Rosalind K. Quinn of Taylors, Jacqueline K. McCarter of Greenville, Boyce H. Kerns of Piedmont, and Jack D. Kerns, Jr. of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Boyce C. Putman, Jr. of Taylors and Robert G. Putman of Greenville; and a sister, Dores Henson of Greer.
Funeral service was held Monday, December 3 in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.

WILLIAM ‘BILL’ TYLER
William “Bill” Ernest Tyler, 89, of Piedmont, husband of Carolyn Stokes Tyler, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at his home.
Born in Monroe County, TN, he was a son of the late General Sherman Tyler and Winnie Florence McCully Tyler.  He was retired from Consolidated Aluminum and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.  Mr. Tyler was also a U.S. Army WWII and Korean War veteran.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are daughter, Jane VanDonkelaar of the home; sons, Larry Tyler of Chapin, Danny Tyler of Paden City, WV; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Watkins of Aiken, Agnes Strickland of Maryville, TN; and brother, John Tyler of Maryville, TN.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 3 at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial followed in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Anderson.
Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Youth Group, 108 New Hope Rd., Pelzer, SC 29669.

DAWN HUMPHREYS
Dawn Humphreys, 33, died November 21, 2012.
Surviving are two children, Drew Humphreys and Ethan Martin; father, Bruce Humphreys of TN; mother, Dottie Litt of Piedmont; two brothers and one sister, Chris Humphreys of Beaufort, Peter Long of Greenville, and Jennifer Johnson of Greenville.
A memorial service is planned for a later date.

BERNICE STEWART JAMES
Bernice Stewart James, formerly of Pelzer, widow of Lewis “L.C.” James Sr., died Friday, November 30, 2012.
Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Adgar Lee and Annie Canty Stewart.
Surviving are daughter, Shirley S. Thompson of Greenville; sons, Lewis Calvin James Jr. of Greer, Howard B. James of San Antonio, TX, Timothy D. James of Anderson; sister, Octavia Shanklin of Lexington, KY; brother, William Stewart of Haywood, CA; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Burial was held Wednesday at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

MARKEITH ANTWON WELLS
Markeith Antwon Wells, 29, of Piedmont, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenville, he was the son of Bobby and Jacqueline Johnson Wells.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, is his wife, Ayanna Wells; daughter, Aliya Wells; grandparents, Rev. Dr. James and Ernestine Johnson; great-grandmother, Effie Lee Smith, both of Piedmont; sister, Tara Wells of the home; brother, Markus Wells of Simpsonville.
Funeral service was held Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church with burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
