For Williamston Ward 2
The Town of Williamston will hold a special election on Tuesday, April 2 to fill the Ward 2 Council seat term expiring Dec. 31, 2014.
Books are now open at Williamston Town Hall for any citizen interested in being a candidate. Candidates must present a printed hard copy of their filed statment of economic interests with the filing fee and petition. Deadline for filing is 12 noon Feb. 1. The filing fee for the office is $50.
The election is nonpartisan and no party affiliation will be on the ballot. Persons planning to vote in the election must be registered by March 2.
Polling places will be Williamston Mill Precinct and Cedar Grove Precinct at Calvary Baptist Church. The Williamston Precinct will vote at Palmetto Middle School.
