The Lazy Dogs will be the guest band at Jack’s Pickin’ Parlor on Thursday, Feb. 21. Admission is free and donations are accepted.

“These are two of our favorite pickers,” said owner Jack Ellenburg. “The Lazy Dogs are Ken and Carol Andrews who will be playing songs in the bluegrass tradition with a blend of vocal harmonies that will surely stir the soul.”

Jack’s Pickin’ Parlor is located at 2641 Anderson Hwy. just off Hwy. 29, near Williamston (one mile north of the Jockey Lot).

The Pickin’ Parlor first opened their doors in 1999. Ellenburg said it was a lifelong dream to “open a music parlor where the everyday musician could have a place to share their music.”

Nancy Carroll joined Ellenburg two years later.

Together they offer a place where anyone interested in playing or listening to bluegrass music is welcome. “No matter what your age or skill level, there’s a place for you at Jack’s Pickin’ Parlor.

The Pickin’ Parlor doors are open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and features a stage show and informal jams. The Lazy Dogs will perform at 8 p.m.

They also have an instrument sale on the first Saturday of each month where they buy and sell used guitars, banjos, mandolins and violins.
