Sheriff’s Office to offer intruder/shooter training

In light of the spate of recent mass shootings, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office will be facilitating a FREE seminar on Active Shooter and Intruder Response in a school setting.  The seminar will provide ways for faculty, staff and students to plan against an Active Shooter situation.

The seminar will be held at the Anderson Civic Center on February 28. There will be two sessions conducted, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  Each session will be taught by (Ret) F.B.I. Chief Negotiator Stephen J. Romano.  

Times for each session will be: 9:30am -11:30am (session 1) and 1 pm – 3 pm (session 2).  This seminar is designed for private and public school personnel, daycare workers, and collegiate level administration. 

Space will be limited to 500 participants in each class.  Anyone interested in registering for one of these classes can contact Lt. Nikki Carson or Captain Darrell Hill with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

There is no registration fee to attend this seminar. Deadline for registration is February 22.
