Jack’s Pickin’ Parlor, located at 2641 Anderson Hwy. just off Hwy. 29, near Williamston (one mile north of the Jockey Lot) will feature the Slik Nickel Band on Thursday, March 14 at 8 p.m.

Slik Nickel recently placed 2nd in the Blueflame Bluegrass Group Competition.

“They have rich vocals and harmonies threaded together and strong instrumentation combine to form a group steeped in the bluegrass tradition but have a fresh and unique sound,” said Pickin’ Parlor owner Jack Ellenburg.

The group features Frank Owens of Liberty, Joey Newton of Six Mile, Brandon Couch of Pelzer and Robert Walker of Dacusville.

Pickin’ Parlor doors are open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and features a stage show and informal jams.

In addition to the regular weekly stage shows and jams, they are now featuring regionally known bluegrass musicians and groups on a monthly basis.

The Pickin’ Parlor also has an instrument sale on the first Saturday of each month where they buy and sell used guitars, banjos, mandolins and violins.
