Williamston Police Report

Williamston Police Officers investigated a shoplifting incident in which a 44 year old man took candy and an incident in which a man thought to be passed out behind the wheel did not respond well when he was awakend. The following incidents were reported:

Feb. 26 – Stacy Andre Smith, 44, 101 Bigby St., Williamston was arrested for shoplifting at Sav Way 309 E. Main St. after taking candy items valued at $19.08 from the store. Items taken included four king sized Hershey chocolate bars, four king sized Twix bars and four king sized Reeses Cups. T. D. Hoover investigated.

Feb. 25 – Matthew Scott Dodgens, 29, 109 Crappie Dr., Williamston was arrested for open container and disorderly conduct after he was observed unresponsive in the McDonald’s parking lot. According to reports, he was “passed out behind the wheel of a red Dodge pickup.”

After several attempts to wake him up, he did respond but refused to get out of the vehicle at which point he was tazed. He continued to pull away from officers who tazed him a second time. R. Drennon, T. D. Hoover investigated.

Feb. 24 – Diane Rae Rivella, 35, 106 River Dr., Williamston was arrested for simple possession of marijuana and open container after a Dodge van was observed traveling off the roadway at the intersection of Academy St. and Gossett Dr. Upon searching the vehicle officers found several pieces of marijuana in a grinder. C. Whitefield investigated.

Feb. 23 – John Threadgill of Boiling Springs reported that while cleaning out a bank owned property he found several pieces of law enforcement equipment including uniform items and duty gear belonging to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. The items were place into evidence and the GCSO was contacted. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Feb. 23 – Robert Rivas, 51, 35 Traxler Ave., Williamston reported damage to windows at the residence. Two small rocks were found on the window panes. Damage was estimated at $170. D. Crawford investigated.

Feb. 21 – Tricia Shea Bratcher, 23, 336 Mahaffey Rd., Williamston was placed on trespass notice for 611 S. Hamilton St,. after a domestic dispute at the residence. M. E. Simmons investigated.

Feb. 21 – Tonya Michelle Heatherly, 43, 612 N. Hamilton St. reported a white and black Mongoose bicycle valued at $50 stolen from the residence. A. Eliopoulos, J. Rogers investigated.

Feb. 21 – Garry Arthur Patterson, 24, 401 Elaine Way, Williamston was placed on trespass notice for Dollar General, 526 West Main St. after officers responded concerning a possible shoplifting incident. J. Rogers investigated.

Feb. 20 – Daniel C Martinez, 19, 1142 G. St., Williamston was arrested for outstanding bench warrant for failure to stop on command. M. E. Simmons, A. Eliopoulos investigated.

Feb. 20 – Matthew Charles Fields, 27, 111 Sanders St., Honea Path was arrested for simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container after a red Toyota truck with no tag was observed on Parker St at McAlister St. According to reports, officers found a half empty Mason jar of moonshine in the vehicle and marijuana in his pocket. Feb. 20 – John Clavin Miller, Jr., 38, 137 Williams Rd., Pelzer was arrested for assault on an officer while resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a stolen vehicle after he was observed sitting on a black ZX 10 Kawasaki motorcycle.

Officers found a glass pipe in his left hand and $1200 cash in his pocket. Miller was tazed when he refused to cooperate with officers. The motorcycle was reported stolen by the Greenville County Sheriff’s office. He also had outstanding warrants in Greenville County. The motorcycle, valued at $5500 belonged to the GCSO. R. Feb. 15 – Billy Frank Whitaker, 54, 321 Rivers St., Belton was arrested for no SC drivers license after a gold 2003 Chevrolet was observed on Greenville Dr., and N. Hamilton. R. Drennon, T. D. Hoover investigated.
