BRENDA RUMSEY
Brenda Lee Rumsey, 68, formerly of Williamston, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Hartwell Health Care Center.
She was born on November 13, 1944, in Anderson County. Brenda was the daughter of the late William Hailey Rumsey and Mary Leolis Long Rumsey.
Survivors include brothers, Baxter Rumsey and his wife Mary Ann of Belton, Charles Rumsey and his wife Connie of Williamston. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Claude Rumsey, and infant brother, Larry Rumsey. Also a niece, Yvonne Rumsey Holton, and nephew, Claude Mack Rumsey.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 9 at 2 p.m. at the Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel with Rev. Bill Ellison. Members of the family will be at their respective homes.

MARY JO RICHEY
Mary Jo Richey, 96, of Fort Myers, FL, died Thursday, March 7 at Gulf Coast Hospital.
Born in Williamston, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Essie Poole.
She was predeceased by her husband, Benard Earle Richey. She was a homemaker and a member of Concord Baptist Church. She retired from Sears.
She is survived by a son, Ronald.
A graveside service was held March 13 at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

FRANCES ‘PAN’  EDWARDS WATSON
Frances “Pan” Edwards Watson, 93, widow of Ellerson Watson, formerly of Honea Path, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
Born in Saluda, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Sara Elizabeth Ransom Edwards of Saluda. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Honea Path.
She was a school teacher for 3o years.
Surviving are two daughers, Sherry Toole of Seneca and Linda Wiles of Powdersville; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services were held at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering or Building Fund at First Baptist Church, 100 South Main Street, Honea Path, SC 29654.

BEATRICE FLOYD MANTOOTH
Beatrice Christine Floyd Mantooth, 88, of Greenville, widow of Chester Malcomb Mantooth, died Thursday, March 7, 2013.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Oliver Singleton Floyd and Nora Ella Campfield Floyd McCrary.
She retired from Pine Hill Industries and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church.
She is survived by son, Dennis Mantooth of Powdersville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Louise Pace and Geraldine Whiteside, both of Hendersonville, NC.
Funeral service was held Saturday, March 9 at Welcome Baptist Church. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

ROBERT L. CHILES, JR.
Robert L. Chiles, Jr., 59, of Piedmont, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at his home.
Born in Williamston, he was the son of Carolyn Chiles of the home and the late Robert L. Chiles, Sr.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Fallon Roshelle Hodge of Greenville; son, Robert L. Chiles, III of Piedmont; sisters, Elaine Chiles and Pamela Chiles, both of Greenville; and two grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary.

EVELYN TOLLISON
PIEDMONT – Evelyn Pressley Tollison, 82, of Piedmont, widow of Louis Anthony Tollison, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Hosanna Health and Rehab of Piedmont.
Born in Six Mile, she was a daughter of the late William Guy and Sadie Lavada Evans Pressley.  She was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Connie Black, Donna Owen and JoAnne Todd, all of Williamston; adopted grandson, Anthony Joseph Tollison of the home; sisters, Virginia Kinder of Langley, OK, and Margaret Cain of Panama City, FL; brother, Ernest Pressley of Decatur, AL; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 9 at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Burial was held at the church cemetery.
The family is at the home.

RUBY T. FRAZIER
PIEDMONT—Ruby Toney Frazier, 89, of 44 Main Street, widow of Sherman Frazier, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at her home.
Born in Jonesboro, TN, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Bell Buchanan Toney. She retired from the J.P. Stevens Estes Plant.  She attended the Mothers Sunday School class at Trinity Baptist Tabernacle where she was a member.  Ruby loved to quilt, read, and enjoy her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a living history book.
Surviving are her daughters Shirley Gambrell, Midge Williams, Sarah Gerber, Linda Jordan, Gracie Brown, and Nancy Basinger; sons Edward Frazier, William Toney, and Jerry Toney; brothers Albert Toney and Robert Carl Toney; twenty living grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons Odell Frazier and Ronnie Toney; five brothers Herbert, Gentry, James, Willie, and Richard Toney; one sister Jessie Mae Williams; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was held 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday at Trinity Baptist Tabernacle.  Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

RICHARD CAPPS
Richard Henry Capps, 60, of Piedmont, died Sunday, March 10, 2013.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late William Iler and Hortense Sherman Capps. He was formerly employed by Celanese Americas as an electrical engineer.
Surviving are daughters, Christie Ellison of Honea Path, Amanda Capps and Whitney Capps, both of Piedmont; sisters, Sylvia Browning, Dot Harrison and Jackie Roberts; brothers, Kent, Bobby, Billy and Ronnie Capps; and eleven grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Tuesday at Emmanuel Full Gospel Tabernacle.

HETTIE CAPPS
Hettie Viola Roper Capps, 94, of Piedmont, widow of J.W. Capps, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at her home.
Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Agnes Lona Hiott Roper.  She was retired from J.P. Stevens and a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Doris Barber of Piedmont; sons, Fred Capps of Piedmont and Milton Capps of West Pelzer; sister, Corrie Lockaby Bowen of Piedmont; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 13 in the funeral home chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

RANDY SMITH
Randall “Randy” Lewis Smith, 50, husband of Tammy Cantrell Smith of Belton, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 in Sevierville, TN.
Born in Cowpens, he was a son of the late Willie Jackson and Effie G. Risner Smith. He was employed at Honeywell and was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Katelyn and Ali Smith, both of the home; brother, Tommy Smith of Anderson; sister, Dianne Wise of Milledgeville, GA.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 13 at Whitefield Baptist Church.  Entombment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

CLARA JONES
Clara Mae Stone Jones, 92, formerly of Piedmont, widow of Herman E. Jones, died Monday, March 11, 2013.
She was a daughter of the late Charles and Beulah Porter Stone.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Guthrie of Piedmont; and one granddaughter.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 12 at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

LUCI SARGENT
PELZER – Willie Lucille “Luci” Crawford Sargent, 71, of 107 Whitten Road, wife of Charles Edward Sargent, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at her home.
Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late William Edgar and Mattie Grace Beacham Crawford.  She was formerly employed with Family Dollar in Pelzer, a member of New Hope Baptist Church, and a member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving in addition to her husband are son, Link Sargent (Janice) of Clemson, grandchildren, Amber Drew Cody, Sara; son, Scott Sargent (Elisa) of Williamston, grandchildren, Lee, Cara, Jeffrey and his wife, Kadie, great-grandchildren, Alex and Brady; son, Eric Sargent (Jessica) of Pelzer, grandchildren, Sommerly, Spencer, Nick, sisters, Geraldine Jones of Crestview, FL, Jeannette Segers and Margaret Williams, both of Williamston; brothers, James Crawford of Pelzer, Greg Crawford of Greer.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:45 pm Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Robert Parris officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
