Williamston Police ReportWilliamston Police Officers investigated several thefts and an incident in which a man on trespass notice for a local convenience store was denied a beer purchase but left money on the counter anyway and left with his beer. Among incidents investigated were the following:

Feb. 28 – John Arch Browning, Jr., 60, 108 Market St., reported someone cut a lock off of a storage unit at 404 E. Main. A pool table valued at $400 was reported missing. D. Crawford, T. D. Hoover investigated.

Mar. 26 – Tracey Lynn Price, 45, 6 Ridley St., Williamston reported damage to a storm window and frame estimated at $100. A. Eliopoulos investigated.

Mar. 28 – Kory Freeman Butler, 24, 219 Ridgcrest Way, Williamston and Dawn Marie Ray (no further information) were arrested for trespassing after officers responded to the residence in reference to a possible break-in. Reports state the resident, Matthew Brennen Davis found two friends at the house but did not give them permission to enter the house or remove metal from the property. C. Whitefield investigated.

Mar. 28 – Sharon Anastos, 41, 120 Belview Circle, Pelzer reported a 42 inch television and queen size mattress and box springs removed from a storage building at 404 E. Main St. The items were valued at $51.

Mar. 29 – Marlon Lee Bracken, 38, 2 Shirley Dr., Williamston reported a Taurus .380 handgun valued at $200 removed from a vehicle. D. Crawford investigated.

Mar. 25 – Officers investigated an incident of found property in which a large air compressor had apparently fallen off a truck and was left on the side of South Hamilton St. Reports state a witness saw a small dark color pickup leave the scene. The compressor was valued at $2000. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Mar. 25 – Jonathan Murriel Black, III, 27, 2 Coker Circle, Williamston was arrested for outstanding warrants, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methanphetamine and possession of a sawed off shotgun after officers responded to Tripp St. in reference to a vehicle that matched the description of the one in the previous report. D. Crawford, T. D. Hoover investigated.

Mar. 25 – Officers investigated an incident in which a person on trespass notice at Fast Fuel, 207 W. Main St. entered the store and selected two 24 ounce cans of Ice House Edge beer. A store employee told the man he could not purchase the merchandise. He placed two dollars and four quarters on the counter and left. The suspect could not be located by officers. A. Eliopoulos, R. Drennon investigated.

Mar. 27 – Arthur Limus Acker III, 58, 145 Cherokee Rd., Williamston was arrested for public disorderly conduct and failure to accompany after officers responded to the location a second time in reference to a domestic disturbance. A. Eliopoulos, R. Drennon investigated.

Mar. 27 – Renee Marie Walton, 31, 30 River St., Pelzer reported a cell phone valued at $50 taken while she was in the laundromat at 12 Greenville Drive. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.
