Family Connection of SC will host its 5th Annual Charity Event presented by Vital Care EMS to benefit children in South Carolina who have special needs at 7 p.m. May 24 at the Marriott Greenville.

The event will feature 20 football greats including Heisman Trophy winners George Rogers, Mike Rozier and Johnny Rodgers and former Clemson Tigers head football coach Danny Ford. All proceeds from the event will benefit Family Connection, a statewide nonprofit organization that supports families who have children with disabilities, special healthcare needs or chronic illnesses.

“This is our 5th year and it’s going to be our biggest event yet,” said Vital Care EMS owner Dave Roberts. “We’ve got a lot of great guys coming together to support a charity that is so critical to our community. It’s easy for Vital Care to get behind an event like this because the proceeds are going to such a great cause.”

The evening will include food, drinks, music, silent and live auctions and a chance to meet the sports legends. Attendees will have the opportunity to get autographs and take pictures with the stars and to bid on items including sports memorabilia, concert tickets and destination vacation packages.

Other sports legends scheduled to appear include: Heisman Trophy winners George Rogers, Mike Rozier and Johnny Rodgers; Danny Ford, former Clemson Tigers head coach; Art Baker, former Furman University head coach; NFL alumni Rickey Jackson, Michael Dean Perry, Harold Green, Dwayne Harper, Willie Scott, Rod Wilson, Na’shan Goddard, Jonathan Alston, Rick Sanford, Jim Stuckey and Andre Goodman; current NFL players Travelle Wharton and Sheldon Brown; and current UFL player Langston Moore.

Over the past four years, Vital Care EMS has raised more than $100,000 to support Family Connection and its many programs. For more information about Family Connection programs, visit www.FamilyConnectionSC.org.
