EMS responds to Williamston reservoir area

rsz_img_8182resAnderson County Emergency Response personnel responded to a possible drowning situation in the Big Creek reservoir located near Williamston Friday afternoon around 3:30 p.m.

According to Williamston Police Chief Tony Taylor, one of two men who were fishing in a small boat near the back side of the lake was brought off the reservoir by rescue personnel to waiting EMS on Shorebrook Drive.

CPR was being administered to the man and he was transported by ambulance to the hospital, officials said.

Shorebrook Drive is located just off Minor St. in the Shorebrook subdivision which borders the small lake. The reservoir was once the town’s water supply. 

Details of what happened were not yet available. Anderson County Sheriff’s Personnel were on the scene and planned to interview one of the two men about what happened.

Two pickup trucks belonging to the men were parked just off  Shorebrook Drive officials said. A resident of the subdivision said he had seen one of the men in the vicinity on numerous occassions going fishing in the lake.
