HILDA ANNETTE NOLEN CASH
Hilda Annette Nolen Cash, 91, of Piedmont, widow of Furman S. Cash, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Faye Cash Johnson.
Born in Chesnee, she was a daughter of the late John Henry “Buzz” Nolen and Janie Scruggs.
She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Janis Raines of Athens, GA, Faye Johnson of Easley, and Kay Blevins of Covington, GA; and one son, D. Ray Cash of Seneca; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Nolen of Chesnee.
Funeral service was held May 19 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Burial followed at Graceland East Memorial Park.

JOHNNY RAY PATTERSON
Johnny Ray Patterson, 54, of Williamston, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
He was the son of Bobby and Catherine Smith Patterson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Patterson; children, Johnny Ray, Jr. and Tyler Patterson, Sonya Cruz, Alexis and Penny Patterson; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday, May 17 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Belton.

BARBARA KAY WHITFIELD
Barbara Jean Kay Whitfield, 75, of Townville, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Oconee Medical Center in Seneca.
Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Clifton Kay and the late Willie Mae Royster Kay. She was the wife of Lewis O. Whitfield, of the home.
She retired from Jantzen Textiles and was a member of Dickson Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Wayne Whitfield of Townville; two daughters, Melissa Whitfield Elgin of Townville and Teresa Whitfield Buckley of Clemson; three brothers, Larry Kay of Belton, Billy Kay of Hartwell, GA, and Jerry Kay of Williamston; two sisters, Ann Soileau of Anderson and Jessie Mae Grant of Townville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Friday, May 17 at Dickson Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

CHARLIE HOWARD MASSEY
Charlie Howard Massey, 92, of Mauldin, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his home.
Born in Hart County, GA, he was a son of the late Joe W. Massey and Nettie G. Chastain Massey.
He retired from Hatteras Yacht Co. and attended English Road Baptist Church in High Point, NC and Landmark Baptist Church in Mauldin.
He is survived by two daughters, Sarah Ellenburg of Taylors, and Barbara Ann Turner of Williamston; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday at Floral Garden Memorial Park.

RANDY HENDERSON
WILLIAMSTON – Lewis Randolph “Randy” Henderson, 76, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late William Mentford and Vannie Irene Hannah Henderson. He retired from Milliken and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are nieces, Paulette Ballard, of Lincolnton, NC and Deb Sierra, of Williamston; nephews, Darryl , Dwight and Mike Henderson, all of Williamston; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; a number of great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and special friends, Miguel and Olga Reyes.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Paul, Troy and Dewey Henderson.
Visitation was held 5:30-7 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Williamston Cemetery.

RUBY POOLE
Ruby Garrison Poole, 95, of Pelzer, widow of James Ralph Poole, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Pembrook Bizzell “Bud” and Ollie Bell Davis Garrison.
She retired from the Greenville County School District. She was a life-long member of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Piedmont.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 18 at the funeral home chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial followed at the Garrison Cemetery, Old Pelzer Road.

TONY M. ‘SMOKE’ HEATHERLY
Tony Michael “Smoke” Heatherly, 63, of Inman, husband of Dianne Elizabeth Sheriff Heatherly, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at his home.
Born in Pelzer, he was the son of Marion Lee Heatherly Jennings of Roebuck and the late James William Heatherly.
He was a musician having played with the Toy Caldwell Band and the Marshall Tucker Band and was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three daughters, Tina Heatherly Hinson of Anderson, Paula Delaine Heatherly and Brandy Michelle Heatherly, both of the home; sister, Susan Heatherly Cantrell of Taylors; three grandchildren; and step-father, James B. “J.B.” Jennings.
Funeral services were held Saturday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Easley. Entombment followed in Robinson Memorial Gardens – Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum.

MARTHA OLIVIA BOWLING CHITWOOD
Martha Olivia Bowling Chitwood, 84, wife of Arthur Lee Chitwood, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
Born in Piedmont, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lila Henderson Bowling.
She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are, daughter, Janet O. Reavis of Greer; son, Terry L. Chitwood of Williamston; sister, Brenda Lesley of Greenville; two brothers, Ronald T. Bowling of Greenville and Mike T. Bowling of Easley.
Funeral service was held Monday, May 20 in the Downtown Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

GRACE M. ARLEDGE
Grace Moore Arledge, 90, of Greenville, wife of the late Ellsworth Earl Arledge, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Fred James and Ola Waters Moore, she was retired from Southern Bleachery and was a member of Overbrook Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, David Arledge of Mauldin; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Joe Moore of Greenville; and four sisters, Frances Evans of Williamston, Gladys Neff of Yuma, AZ, Faye Janovich of Greer and Fredia Gumlack of Greenville.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at Overbrook Baptist Church. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

CHARLES WILLIAM BRYSON
Charles William Bryson ‘Charlie’, 68, of 140 Darlene Dr., Belton, went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2013.
Born in Piedmont, he was the son of the late Nellie Mae Hammond and Charles Edward Bryson. Charlie was predeceased by his wife, Eunice Terry; a brother, Edward Bryson and a sister, Bonnie Finley.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Davis (Harold) of Piedmont and a brother, John Bryson (Jeanne) of Greenville; a niece, Donna Seigler (Billy) and five nephews, Drew Davis (Kathy), Don Davis (Paula), James Finley (Jean), Kevin Bryson (Amy) and Darron Bryson (Emily); and great-grandson, Logan Freeman.
A memorial service will be held at the Guthrie Grove Church of God (Abrahamic Faith) on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

JAMES LYNN GILBERT
James Lynn Gilbert, 63, of Pelzer, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Trident Medical Center in Charleston.
Born in Dansville, NY, he was the son of Marion Seymour Gilbert of the home, and the late Harriet Tarbell Gilbert.
He retired as a nursing assistant at Sonya Hospital in New York.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Dawn Hayes Gilbert; son, James Seymour Gilbert of Dansville, NY; daughter, Kimberly Marie Lindem of Summerville; four brothers, Frederick M. Gilbert of GA, Terry L. Gilbert, Ronald J. Gilbert, and Gary M. Gilbert, all of Pelzer; two sisters, Linda D. Guerin and Marilyn A. Gilbert, both of Pelzer; and two granddaughters.
Funeral service was held Monday, May 20 at Midway Bible Church. Interment followed at the Harriet Memorial Gardens, Pelzer.

PAULINE MOON CARROLL
Pauline Moon Carroll, 93, of Aiken, wife of the late Lewis T. Carroll, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Maude Stamps Moon. She retired from Hitchcock Center as an Assistant Physical Therapist. She was a member of Orrville Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Vivian Parkman of Beech Island and Sara Jenkins of Burnettown; son, Dendy Carroll of Santa Cruz, CA; sister, Euzelia Moon Richey of Pelzer; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, May 18 in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home in Langley. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens of Graniteville.
Memorials may be made to Langley First Baptist Church.

RUBY MCCOY
Ruby Frances White McCoy, 82, of Anderson, died Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Hart County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Columbus White and the late Cora Bailey White. She retired from Clark Schwebel and was a member of Garner Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence McCoy, Jr.; son, Ronnie Cleveland of Pelzer; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, James Alton White; and a sister, Dorothy Fowler.
Funeral service was held Sunday, May 19 in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Entombment followed  at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

MARK LIPPERT
WILLIAMSTON—Mark Dudley Lippert, 64, of 3 Church Street, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Hosanna Health and Rehab.
Born in Dixon, IL, he was the son of the late Dudley Eldon and Joanne Ruth Blanchard Lippert.  A veteran of the U.S. Army, he retired from Palmetto Primary School where he was a custodian.  He was also a member of the Bethel Church of God in Pelzer. Mark enjoyed going to Subway everyday where he developed friendships in the community.
Surviving are his sister, Telva Elwell, and her husband, Greg, and brother, Jon Lippert and his wife, Revonda, all of Pelzer.
A memorial service was held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Bethel Church of God.

ELMO “BO” GARNER

Elmo “Bo” Garner, 78, of Williamston, husband of Lois Rachel Garner, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Jones Eddie and Elizabeth Mae Garner.
Bo retired from Duke Energy after 22 years and was in the United States National Guard.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, he is survived by two children, Natalie Renee Pepper (James), and Bo Jeremiah Garner; four grandchildren, Adam Cody Dalton and Yasmine Rachel Evans, and Patrick Anderson and Alexis Hope Garner; two sisters, Nancy Jean Sieroslawski and Mildred Aliene Furry; and two brothers, Melvin Eddie and Charles Dwight Garner.
He was preceded in death by James Wade “JW” Garner.
The visitation was held on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.  The funeral service was held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel.  Burial followed at Graceland Cemetery, West.
