Trooper’s vehicle struck on I-85

Anderson County sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate a motor vehicle accident involving a state Trooper’s vehicle on Interstate 85. The accident, which occurred around a quarter after nine this morning, took place in the inside lane of southbound travel.

The trooper’s Tahoe was parked in the lane with the emergency lights on while he assisted a disabled motorist when his patrol car was struck by a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Shay Mack Buffamoyer, 25, of Easley.

Buffamoyer was the only one injured in the accident. He was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment. The extent of his injury is unknown. He was issued traffic tickets charging him with Driving Too Fast for Conditions and not wearing a seatbelt.
