DIANNA WEST, WILLIE WILBANKS, JR., FRANCES THOMPSON, ROBERT WILSON

DIANNA WEST

WEST PELZER – Dianna Joyce West, 38, of 40 Spring Street, died September 1, 2013.

   Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of Doug and Brenda Cureton West. 

   She was a member of West Pelzer Baptist Church.

   Surviving in addition to her parents of West Pelzer are daughter, Olivia DelRay West of West Pelzer; brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Terri West of Williamston; maternal grandmother, Helen Cureton of West Pelzer; nephew, Cruz West of Pelzer; nieces, Kerribeth and Rachel West, of Williamston.

   She was predeceased by a niece, Jewel West.

   Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:15 pm Friday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

   The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 pm with Rev. Randall Smith officiating.

   Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Greenville.

   Memorial may be made to the National Association for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), 3803 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203.

   The family will be at 39 Spring Street, West Pelzer.

WILLIE WILBANKS, JR.

WILLIAMSTON – Willard “Willie” Morris Wilbanks, Jr., 71, of 101 Kilgore Avenue, husband of Sandra Sellars Wilbanks, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

Born in Taylors, he was the son of the late Willard Morris, Sr., and Lucille Wilbanks. A veteran of the U. S. Navy, he retired from the Greenville Hospital System after 37 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Brian Wilbanks, of Williamston, and Jamie Wilbanks and his wife, Stephanie, of Massillon, OH; and grandchildren, Savannah, Ethan and Nora Wilbanks.

Visitation will be 1-2:15 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

FRANCES THOMPSON

PELZER—Mary Frances Lindley Thompson, 89, of 9 Guy Street, widow of  Henry Oliver Thompson, died Wednesday, September 04, 2013, at Hosanna Health and Rehab.

    Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of J.O. and Nora Tumblin Lindley.  Frances retired from Anderson County School District One where she worked in the cafeteria.  She was a member of Pelzer First Baptist Church. 

    Surviving are her daughters Mrs. Sherman (Mary Ann) Woodson, of West Pelzer and Mrs. Joel (Sissy) Taylor, of Pelzer; two grandchildren, Sherman Woodson and Ann Gaston; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

    Mrs. Thompson was predeceased by her granddaughter, Kim Woodson Golden.

    Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at Gray Mortuary.  The service will be held in the funeral home chapel Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Roger Couch and Rev. Barry Garrett officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

ROBERT WILSON

PIEDMONT – Samuel Robert Wilson, 95, of 515 Blossom Branch Road, husband of seventy-seven years to Pauline Evans Wilson, died September 4, 2013 at his home.

   Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Samuel and Artie Mae Capps Wilson.  He was retired from J.P. Stevens Piedmont Plant and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.  Mr. Wilson enjoyed farming and selling produce.

   Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Joyce Pressley and Marian Greer (Ronnie); daughter-in-law, Anne Wilson; grandchildren, Duane Wilson, Danny Davis, Sandra Hiscott, Terri Wilson, Terry Greer; eleven great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren.

   He was predeceased by sons, Roy and Clyde Wilson; grandsons, Tim Wilson, Randy Greer and Ronnie Greer, Jr.; granddaughter, Wendy Davis; great-great granddaughter, Haley Wilson.

   Visitation will be held from 2-3 pm Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church.

   The funeral service will follow at 3 pm at the church with burial in the church cemetery.

   The family is at the home of Anne Wilson, 519 Blossom Branch Road, Piedmont.

   Gray Mortuary, Pelzer is assisting the family.
