EOC scores increase in Greenville Co.

Greenville County Schools’ students posted an increase in passage rates on the state’s end-of-course exams in all four exam areas: Algebra 1, English 1, Biology 1, and U.S. History. GCS students also outperformed the state average on ALL end-of-course tests.

Algebra 1 – Passage rate increased from 83.5% in 2012 to 86.9% in 2013.

English 1 – Passage rate increased from 76.5% in 2012 to 82.5% in 2013.

Biology 1 – Passage rate increased from 81.4% in 2012 to 84.7% in 2013.

U.S. History – Passage rate increased from 65.7% in 2012 to 73.1% in 2013.

The end-of-course exams count 20% of a student’s final grade in the course. Biology 1 and U.S. History results are used in the calculation of high school and district ESEA grades.

EOCEP results are also used to determine Report Card Absolute Ratings for middle and high schools and school districts.
