Q.Z. STARKS
Q.Z. Starks died Monday, October 21, 2013 at McCall Hospice in Simpsonville.
Born in Fountain Inn, she was the daughter of the late Sunie and James Earl Young, Sr.
Surviving are daughters, Ernestine Canty of Greenville, Margaret Starks, of Taylors, and Sonja Mickler-Smith of Piedmont; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Fountain Inn. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

ROY STEVE DAVIS
Roy Steve Davis, 63, of Williamston, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at his home.
Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Pauline Hames Davis.
He was a truck driver with Central Transport in Duncan.
He is survived by fiance Veronica Kawski; his children, Kelly Davis of Anderson, Wayne Davis of Gaffney and Kristi D. Hoff of Spartanburg; and three grandchildren.
Funeral service was held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, October 25.

DOT KAY
Dorothy “Dot” Rutledge Kay, 85, of Williamston, widow of James Buford Kay, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at her home.
Born in Gastonia, NC, she was a daughter of the late Austin DeWitt and Inez Owings Rutledge. She retired from the Kendall Company and was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church.
She is survived by son, Gary Kay of Williamston; and sister, Louise Rutledge Watson of Pelzer.
A cryptside service was held Monday, October 28, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.

STELLA HOWARD
Stella Fowler Howard, 73, of Pelzer, wife of James Edward Howard, passed away on Friday, October, 25, 2013 at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Piedmont, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Rachel Dealie Tinsley Fowler.  She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are daughter, Patricia Costa of Simpsonville; son, Samuel Lawhorne of Little River; sister, Helen Ausburn of Williamston; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Sunday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Piedmont.  Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery, Piedmont.

JOHNNY ‘JAY JAY’  VICKERY JR.
Johnny “Jay Jay” Herbert Vickery, Jr., of Honea Path died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at his home.
Born in Anderson, he was the son of Johnny Herbert Vickery, Sr. and Debra Jean Shaw Vickery, both of Honea Path.
He was employed at Timken and attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Abbeville.
He is survived by his wife, Christal Vickery of the home; son, Blaine Vickery of Honea Path; two daughters, Jaylin’ Vickery and Jaycee Vickery, both of Honea Path; two brothers, Josh Vickery of Pelzer and Jason Vickery of Ware Shoals.
Funeral service will be held Friday, November 1 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 31, from 6 until 8 p.m.

IDA MAE SULLIVAN
Ida Mae Sullivan, 85, of Williamston, died Monday, October 27, 2013. The family is at 4 Jehue Street, Williamston.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by The Unity Mortuary of Williamston.

MARGARET WILSON
Margaret I. Wilson, 62, of Williamston, died Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by The McDougald Funeral Home.

WILLIAM C. GRAY
William C. Gray, 79, of Greenville died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his home.
Born in Travelers Rest, he was the son of the late Jeremiah and Channie McKinney Gray.
He is survived by his daughter, Darline P. Williams of Piedmont; sons, William L. Gray of Greenville and Robert Lee Gray; sisters, Telora McGowens and Betty Young, all of Greenville, Shirley Gray of Villa Rica, GA, Myrtle Holmes of Detroit, MI, Linda Murray of Richmond, TX; brothers, Jerry Gray of Travelers Rest, and Arthur Lee Gray of Douglasville, GA; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his wife, Earline Pinson Gray.
He retired from Steel Heddle Manufacturing Company.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 noon at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

CARROLL PATTERSON
Carroll Richard Patterson, 86, of Piedmont, husband of Betty Jo Neal Patterson, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Gary and Bessie Lucille Allen Patterson. A World War II veteran of the U. S. Navy, he retired from J. P. Stevens, Estes Plant, and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Janice Taylor of Piedmont; sister, Nancy Moore of Greenville; brother, Ralph Patterson of Easley; two grandchildren, ; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 at Rehoboth Baptist Church with burial following at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home of daughter, Janice Taylor, 936 Piedmont Highway, Piedmont.

Anna Moseley

Piedmont – Anna Jane Moseley, 23, of 7 Prospect Street, died October 27, 2013.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Phillip Arthur Moseley of Augusta, GA and Lisa Hooper Moseley of Aiken.

Surviving in addition to her parents are son, Ashton Tyler Allison of West Pelzer; daughter, Lillian Grace Lyric Parker of the home; brother, Michael Tyler Moseley of Pelzer; grandparents, Charles D. and Ola Jane Hooper of Pelzer, Joanne Moseley of Augusta, GA; special cousins, Elizabeth Ashley and John William Glasby of Pelzer.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 pm.  Burial will be at Pine Lawn Cemetery, Pelzer.
