Stephanie Jan Pilgrim Stroud, 40, of Williamston, died Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of Barry Edward and Cathy Edens Pilgrim.  She was employed by Hosanna Health and Rehab and attended New Spring Church.
In addition to her parents of Williamston, she is survived by her children, Colton J. Stroud and Emily M. Stroud, of the home; sister, Sue Ann Davis of Pelzer; and fiancé, Charles Morgan, of Williamston.
The funeral was held at Beech Springs Tabernacle Tuesday. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

DR. KEITH L. COLE
WILLIAMSTON – Dr. Keith Lamar Cole, 63, of 99-A Pelzer Avenue, widower of Dr. Doris Daniel Cole, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at NHC Healthcare of Anderson.
Born in Pelzer, he was a son of Roy Lee Cole, of West Pelzer, and the late Geneva Pressley Cole.
He earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Pharmacy at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Cole was a retired pharmacist and former owner of Cole’s Family Pharmacy in Williamston and Pelzer and he served as past President of the South Carolina Pharmaceutical Association. He was active in his community as a member of the Williamston Sertoma Club and was also active in the Greater Williamston Business Association. He and his wife, Doris, started and first chaired the Williamston Spring Water Festival. Dr. Cole was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Williamston where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by his father, Roy Lee Cole and his wife, Mary, of West Pelzer; daughter, Dr. Cayce Cole Tangeman, her husband Craig, and granddaughter, Anna Leigh Tangeman, of Charleston; and brothers, Tim Cole and his wife, Julie, Greg Cole and his wife, Sherri, all of Williamston, and Sam Cole and his wife, Tonya, of Inman.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the funeral home chapel with Mr. G. Lee Cole, Jr. officiating. Burial was private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the MUSC Foundation with a request that contributions be designated to the Carroll A. Campbell, Jr. Neuropathology Lab, 173 Ashley Avenue, MSC 510, Charleston, SC 29425, or to the Pelzer/Williamston Presbyterian Food Bank, P. O. Box 38, Williamston, SC 29697.

DORIS E. WHITACRE
Doris E. Carpenter Whitacre, 85, of Belton, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at her home.
Born in Firebrick, KY, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Carpenter and the late Lillian Salyers Carpenter. She worked at the Singer plant for many years.
She is survived by her children, Randall Ray Whitacre of Belton, Kevin Del Whitacre of Williamston, Darlene Ann Whitacre of Starr, and Penny Sue Jackson of Belton; brother,  Myrtie “Pud” Carpenter of Firebrick, KY; two sisters, Katherine Fitch and Alfreda Hobson, both of Dayton, OH; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter Ray Whitacre.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 16 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

PAULINE ‘POLLY’ HESTER HAMMOND
Pauline “Polly” Hester Hammond, 93, of Greenville, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
Born in Piedmont, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Bessie Thompson.
She retired from the Greenville County Court House and was a member of Monaghan United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Burns of Anderson; stepdaughter, Jackie Burnett of Simpsonville; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Jordan and Hazel King.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Wesley M. Hester; and second husband, Jewell M. Hammond.
Funeral service was held Friday, November 15 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.

KELLY ‘JUNIOR’ TAYLOR
Kelly Washington Taylor, Jr., 88, of Piedmont, husband of Sarah Luker Taylor, died  November 12, 2013 at his home.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Kelly W. Taylor, Sr. and Inez Hilton Taylor.   He was formerly employed with Southern Franklin Processing  and a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving in addition to his wife  are daughters, Sandra Alverson of Pelzer, Kellene Beasley of Piedmont; son, Mike Taylor of Piedmont; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; sister, Connie Kennedy; brother, Edward Taylor.
Funeral service was held  Friday, Nov. 15 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer
Burial followed at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family is at the home of Kellene and Marshall Beasley, 157 Oak Hill Drive, Piedmont.

SARA COTHRAN
Sara Gambrell Cothran, 84, of Williamston, widow of William Frank Cothran, died on November 14, 2013.
Surviving are sons, Joe and David Cothran of the home; one grandson; three great-grandchildren; sister, Rosalee Taylor; brother, Cope Gambrell.
Private memorial services will be held for family only.

LUCILLE REBECKA SMITH HOLMES
Lucille Rebecka Smith Holmes, 96, of Pelzer, died November 14, 2013.
Born in Greenville she was a daughter of the late D.E. Irvin and Isebelle Haney Smith.
She was a member of Tremont Avenue Church of God.
She is survived by daughter, Betty H. Saucier of Pelzer; son, Marvin W. Holmes of Easley; sister, Louise Bond of Greenville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 18 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel. Burial followed at Graceland West Cemetery.

JAMES HIOTT
James Waymon Hiott, 80, husband of Virginia Smith Hiott, of Belton, died November 13, 2013 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Waymon and Ethel Mattison Hiott.  He was a retired truck driver and a member of Second Baptist Church of Belton.  He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Kenny Hiott of Fort Mill, Eddie Hiott of Belton, Jeffery Hiott of Taylors, Keith Hiott of Belton; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was Monday in the Gray Mortuary Chapel.  Burial followed in M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson.
The family is at the home.

BARBARA TULLIS BOLT
Sarah Barbara Tullis Bolt, 87, of Greenville, died Saturday, November 16, 2013.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Harry Newell Tullis and Sadie Wofford Bissell Tullis Sweeny.
She was predeceased by her husband Hugh Earl Bolt.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Kevin Earl Bolt of Greenville; daughter, Jennifer Bolt McCalla of Powdersville; and one granddaughter.
A graveside service was held Tuesday at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

JOSEPH ‘JOHN’ DUNCAN
Joseph Clyde “John” Duncan, 76, of Greenville, died Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Greenville Health System.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Seth, Sr. and Nellie Louise Bridges Duncan. He was formerly employed by Union Bleachery.
Surviving are son, Joe Duncan; sisters, Barbara Coker and Darlene Bonnette, both of Pelzer, Dorothy Smith and Joyce Turner, both of Williamston; and brother, Jimmy Duncan, of Greenville.
Visitation will be 12:30-2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Travelers Rest.

L. KATHLEEN  DRIVER REEVES
L. Kathleen Driver Reeves, 90, formerly of Belton, died Monday, November 18, 2013 at Hospice of the Upstate.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late William Robert Driver and Estelle Hopkins Driver Lollis. She was a member of Eastview Baptist Church and was retired from BASF.
Surviving are a son, William A. “Bill” Reeves of Belton; daugthers, Brenda R. Campbell of Williamston and Karen Busha of Anderson; brother, James “Sam” Driver; sister, Jenell Vaughn; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Belton Cemetery.
