ADDIE LEE LOCKABY
PELZER – Addie Lee Singleton Lockaby, 93, formerly of Courtney Street, widow of Fred Franklin Lockaby, died Monday, December 30, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Kathy Wooten.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late James Oscar and Flora Lollis Singleton. She retired from Carolina Blouse Manufacturing and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Williamston.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Jimmy Rogers, of Rocky Face, GA, Barbara and Hal Jordan, of Williamston, Kathy and Don Wooten, of Easley; sons and daughters-in-law, Freddy and Michal Lockaby, of Alma GA, Derrell and Sandra Lockaby, of Ninety-Six; brothers, Gus Singleton, of Williamston, and J. O. Singleton, Jr., of Spartanburg; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was 6-8 pm Thursday, January 2, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The funeral service were held at 2 pm Friday, January 3, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Roberts and the Rev. Joe Cadden officiating. Burial followed at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Belton.
The family is at the home of a granddaughter, Kristin Wooten, 190 Stoddard Road, Pelzer.

SIDNEY STRICKLAND
Sidney Lanier Strickland, 80, of Williamston, husband of Maybell Hoffman Strickland, died January 1, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are daughters, Debbie Wilson of Williamston, Nancy Smith of Sylacauga, AL, Mary Adams of Pendleton, Jeannie Barnard of Pelzer; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at  January 5 at the home of Jeannie Barnard, 705 Easley Hwy, Pelzer.
Prior to the service, the family will be at the home of Jeannie Barnard.

A. RAYFORD SIMPSON
A. Rayford Simpson, husband of Vickie Smith Simpson, of West Union, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Oconee County, he was the son of the late Adger Ellison and Eva Simpson Robison.
He retired from Cryovac and attended Mount Vernon Holiness Church in Seneca.
He is survived by a daughter, Jetta Reynolds of Six Mile; sons, Joel Simpson of Seneca, Jonathan Simpson of Easley; brother, Morris Simpson of Pelzer; sister, Mildred Hughes of Seneca; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 2 at Davenport Funeral Home. Burial followed at Heritage Memorial Gardens in Westminster.

RALPH FULLER
Ralph Fuller, 59, of Pelzer, widower of Faye Fuller, died December 30, 2013 at his home.
Born in Oconee County, he was a son of the late Clarence Bennett and Pauline Richardson Fuller.
Surviving are son, Lonnie Fuller of the home; brother, Rufus Fuller of Fountain Inn; sister, Annette Moore of Fountain Inn.
A memorial service was held Thursday at Real life Church in Pelzer.

JEAN CLOUD
Shelba Jean Staggs Cloud, 77, of Pelzer, died December 30, 2013 at her home.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late J.W. and Ruth Kay Staggs.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Pelzer Church of God.
Surviving are sons, Darrell W. Staggs of Belton, Michael Hayes of the home; daughter, Donna Capps of Pelzer; sister, Betty Bridges of Pelzer; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer in the funeral home chapel.  Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

SAMUEL ALBRIGHT
Samuel Joseph Albright, 75, of Pickens, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Canton, OH, he was the husband of Karen Anderson Albright of the home and a son of the late John C. and Katherine C. Albright.
He was employed at the Pickens County Country Club and was a member of Pickens First Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Joe Albright of Powdersville; sister, Alice K. Davies of Waynesboro, VA; brother, John C. Albright of Coral Gables, FL; one granddaughter; and three step grandsons.
Funeral services were held Friday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed at Robinson Memorial Gardens.

RHONDA HAMBY
BELTON – Rhonda Lynn Keeler Hamby, 37, of 1034 Dean Springs Circle, wife of Robert Stephen Hamby, died December 30, 2013 at her home.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of Melvin Benson Keeler of Piedmont and Karen McKee Keeler of Williamston.  She was a preschool teacher at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Child Care Center.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are sons, Bryson Smith of Piedmont, Brady Smith of the home; daughter, Taylor Hamby of the home; step-daughter, Heather Hamby of Pendleton; three grandchildren; brother, Vince Jordan of Easley; sister, Donna Land of Belton.
Visitation was held from 1:00 – 3:00 pm Friday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
The funeral service followed at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Barry Manley officiating.  Burial followed at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Williamston.
The family is at the home of Robby and Donna Land, 1300 Mill St. Ext., Williamston.

TONY WRIGHT, SR.
BELTON—Paul Anthony “Tony” Wright, Sr., 49, of 1901 Big Creek Road, husband to Patricia Denyse Higginbotham Wright, died Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Rabun County, GA, he was a son of Paul Edward Wright and the late Ina Sue Darnell Wright. He was employed by Cushman Mill and a member of Long Creek Hunting Club.
In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by his father, Paul Wright of Williamston; daughter, Sheila Leneice Wright of Manhattan, NY; son, Paul A. Wright, Jr. of Sandy Springs; sister, Vanessa Palmer of Saskatchewan, Canada; brother, Edward Arnold; and granddaughter, Emma Sophia Wright.
Visitation was 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
The family is at the home of Shannon and Amy Wright, 28 Park Street, W. Pelzer.

LOUISE LEOPARD
Mary Louise Harris Leopard, 91, formerly of Piedmont, died Saturday, January 4, 2014.
Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late James William and Angie Elnora McCoy Harris. She retired from Fiber Industries, Greenville.
She is survived by daughters, Sharon L. Ellenburg, of Powdersville and Carolyn L. Dyer, of Greenville; brothers Roy and Bill Harris, both of Pelzer; sister, Wilette Lollis, of Piedmont; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday in the funeral home chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial followed at Graceland East, Greenville.

RUBY GILREATH ACKER
Ruby Lee Gilreath Acker, of Anderson, died Friday, January 3, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Pendleton, she was the daughter of the late Joe Gilreath and the late Leca Telford Gilreath. She was retired from Abney Mills and was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, William Jerry Acker of Charleston; daughters, Peggy Acker Broome of Anderson and Linda Acker Ellis of Williamston; sister, Mildred Gilreath Evans of Anderson and half sister, Loretta Cole of Anderson; one grandson; and one step-grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Ralph Acker.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, January 7 in the chapel of the McDougald Funeral Home. Interment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

JAMES ‘JIM’ STEPHENS JR.
James “Jim” Walton Stephens, JR., 67, husband of Nan Peace Stephens, died Friday, January 3, 2014 at his home.
Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late James Walton Stephens, Sr. and the late Dorothy Turner Stephens Manning.
He was Director at Crossway Ministries in Anderson.
He is survived by three children, Melissa Burroughs of Williamston, Marcus Stephens of Greenville and Lindsey Laye of Seneca; sister, Alice Cook of Douglasville, GA; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Monday, January 6 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment followed at Memory Gardens in Clemson.

GARNETT ‘JOE’ FOSTER
Garnett “Joe” Foster, 88, of Piedmont, husband of Priscilla Porter Foster, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Sutherlin, VA, he was a son of the late James and Elizabeth Elliott Foster. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Transcontinental Gas and Pipeline.
He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Reidsville, NC and attended Bethesda United Methodist Church in Easley.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, John Foster; step children, Dell Elrod, Melanie Isley, and Selena Johnson; and several grand and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 6 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home. Entombment followed in the Robinson Memorial Gardens Chapel of Reflection.

MARTIN FORD, SR.
BELTON, SC – Martin W. Ford, Sr., age 84, of Belton passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at his residence.
Born in Belton, on March 2, 1929 he was the son of the late Charlie Ford and the late America “Merki” Stanton Ford.  Mr. Ford owned and operated Ford’s Body Shop for sixty years.  He was a  member of Whitefield Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children, Martin Ford, Jr., and his wife Cathy, of Belton, SC, Willie Joyce Harper and her husband Robert, of Belton, SC., and Marion Kelly of Belton, SC., six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Willie Faye Wright Ford; brothers, John, Bill and Franklin Ford; sisters, Helen Perry and Annie Mae Pepper.
The Graveside Service was held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family received friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, prior to the service.

CLAUDIA VAUGHAN
Claudia Vaughan, 76, of Piedmont, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Claude H. Wright and Emma E. Wright.
Surviving are brothers, James Wright of Piedmont and William Donald Wright of Mitchellville, MD.
Funeral service was held Wednesday at New Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JANICE COKER DURHAM
Janice Coker Durham, 66, of Piedmont, wife of Cary Durham, died Tuesday, January 07, 2014 at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Thomas “W.T.” and Ouida Vance Coker.  She was retired from Greenville County School District at Grove Elementary School.  She was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are sons, Vance Durham of Merida, Mexico, Scott Durham of Piedmont; four grandchildren; and sister, Eleanor McGahee of Piedmont.
Private services will be held.
