As the SC Senate resumes debate on the “Nullify Obamacare” bill on Tuesday, March 11, concerned progressive activists will continue to remind lawmakers that they think health care is a moral issue, not a political one. Truthful Tuesday activists plan to block legislators entering the State House garage at Pendelton and South Main beginning at 10:45 am.

Charleston resident David Ball, a registered nurse and military veteran, plans to be arrested Tuesday. “This is a moral issue. America is the only industrialized nation that fails to care for its citizens. If it takes my arrest to get South Carolina to expand Medicaid so be it,” he said.

Advocates for Medicaid expansion will gather at 11:40 outside Senate chambers to share their stories of being denied health care.
