GERALD MATTISON
Gerald Haynie Mattison, 74, of Piedmont, husband of Joyce Lucille Strickland Mattison, died Monday, March 17, 2014 at his home.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Carlton and Lucille Clamp Mattison.  He was retired from C&S Trucking and attended New Spring Church.  He also served in the National Guard and Army Reserves.
Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Kenneth Gerald Mattison of Piedmont; three granddaughters; sisters, Linda McGee of Honea Path, Phyllis Fields of Belton, Judy Whitten of Anderson.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home of his son, 3501 Hwy 86, Piedmont.

‘BOB’ CHAPMAN
WILLIAMSTON – John Robert “Bob” Chapman, 75, husband of Jacqueline “Jackie” Roache Chapman, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014.
Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Robert Kendrick “Kent” and Martha Kay Chapman.  He was a retired electrical contractor and a member of Washington Baptist Church.  Bob was also a member of the Pelzer Masonic Lodge and served for over 20 years with the Pelzer Rescue Squad.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Chris (Lori) Chapman of Williamston, Greg Chapman (Mary Jean) of Piedmont; daughter, Lori Smith (Gordon) of Pelzer; six grandchildren, Lauren and Catherine Chapman of Columbia, Morgan and Jordan Masters of Pelzer; Zachary and Erin Chapman of Williamston.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
The funeral service was held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Washington Baptist Church.  Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Washington Baptist Church Building Fund, 208 Washington Church Rd., Pelzer, SC 29669.

SAUNDRA E. NALIPI
Saundra Finley Nalipi, 51, died March 12, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Nalipi; son, Adam Nalipi; daughter, Leah Nalipi;  one grandson; mother, Elane Finley; and siblings, Angela Finley, Andy Finley and Miriam Peters of Pelzer.
She was predeceased by her father, Robert Finley.
Funeral service was held Friday at Cedar Shoals Baptist Church.

DONNA C. STANCELL
Donna C. Stancell, 63, wife of Thomas E. Stancell, died March 16, 2014.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Anna Dittmer Clark and the late Howard H. Clark.
She was retired from Union Carbide, and a member of New Life Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Brian Stancell; one brother, Wayne Clark; and four grandchildren.
Funeral service was held March 17 at New Life Baptist Church. A private burial followed at Graceland Cemetery East.

RUTH McPHERSON
Ruth Lois Smith McPherson, 93, of Williamston, widow of Raymond McPherson, died Friday, March 14, 2014.
Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Charles  and Hokie Mullikin Smith.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services were held Monday at Sullivan King Mortuary Chapel. Private burial followed in Oconee Memorial Park, Seneca.

VENITA FOSTER ALLISON
Venita Foster Allison, 80, wife of Johnie M. Allison, died March 9, 2014.
Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Eunice Foster.
She retired as a Professor Emeritus from Southern Methodist University.
Surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth Allison Fenn; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 21 at New Hope Baptist Church in Pelzer at 10 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

ROGER BANISTER
Roger Duke Banister, 74, of Honea Path, husband of the late Minnie “Moochie” White Banister, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at National Health Care of Anderson.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Jesse “Bill” and Dana Pruitt Banister. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Ware Shoals. He retired from Smith and WAters, Ware Shoals and was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Surviving are three daughters, Dee Dee Hanks of Anderson, Tracey McCall of Piedmont, Dina Sosa of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Jason Shirley and Jeremy Shirley, both of Piedmont; two stepsons, Grady Davis and Joe Davis of Ware Shoals; one step-daughter, Ann D. Campbell of Greenwood; two sisters, Shelby Hopper and Beverly Green; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside services wre held Saturday at Oakbrook Memorial Park.

BRENDA CAROLYN ROBERTS
Brenda Carolyn Roberts, 67, wife of Douglas Albert Roberts of Myrtle Beach, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at her home.
Born in  Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Hudgens Q. and Hattie Hamby Chapman.
She was a member of Washington Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Douglas Albert Roberts II of Myrtle Beach, two daughters, Dana Roberts Ellinger of Elon, NC and Wendy Roberts of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Emily McCall of Pelzer and Norma Jean Browning of Piedmont; and seven grandchildren.
Private services were held.

DEBORAH WHITT
BELTON – Deborah Lynn Whitt, 56, of Belton, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014.
Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late Ned and Francis Davis Whitt.
She is survived by a brother, Dan Davis (Ardith) of Clearwater, FL; aunt, Nancy Whitt Lorenz of Piedmont; uncle, Joe Whitt (Thula) of Williamston; nieces, Stephanie Townsend (Bryan), Caroline Dempsey (Don), and Elizabeth Davis.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Gray Mortuary Chapel, Pelzer.
The family will receive friends following the service.

WILLIAM ‘BILL’ WORLEY
William “Bill” Worley, 68, of Williamston, died March 16, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson to the late Robert and Edna Worley; he was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Fredda Worley; sons, Thomas “Mitch” Worley and Michael Wayne Worley; brothers, David, Mike, Carl Worley; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel on March 19. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

MARTHA LEE DANIEL
Martha Lee Daniel, 89, of Williamston, died March 13, 2014.
Funeral services were held March 19 at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Williamston. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
