The Lewis siblings who were recently arrested in connection with thefts of animals from the Anderson County PAWS facitlity have been arrested in connection with a Pelzer burglary.

Kenneth, Randle, Cassidy and Taylor Lewis have been arrested and charged along with Cassidy Lewis’ (reported) boyfriend, Perry Jacob Sprayberry, age 20, of Piedmont. The gang of thieves broke into a storage building on Stewart Street in Pelzer and stole a welder valued at $250.

Within an hour after the theft, the subjects were captured on video attempting to sell the welder to a scrap metal dealer, across the county line in Greenville. The dealer, suspecting the welder may have been stolen, refused to purchase the item.

The suspects then left the dealership and the welder. The property was subsequently returned to the owner.

All four subjects are charged with Burglary-3rd degree and Petit Larceny. The Lewis siblings are currently in custody at the Anderson County Detention Center; bond has been set at $8000 each. Sprayberry was released on bond Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff Skipper stated, “While it may seem like the Sheriff’s Office spends an exceptional amount of time on minor offenses, the fact is that we spend a lot of time investigating both minor and major crimes. All crimes are significant and, as law enforcement officers, we are charged with enforcing the laws to limit those crimes. If small-time thieves are not caught and penalized early, they may end up as big-time thieves, or they may move on to other more serious crimes such as armed robbery.”
