Molly Spearman, Republican candidate for State Superintendent of Education, will be at the Williamston Municipal Center for a meet and greet Monday May 5 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Spearman is a veteran teacher of 18 years, an elementary school assistant principal and Deputy State superintendent.

She wants to empower parents with more local control, saying no to Washington bureaucrats mandating how children are taught, supports safer learning environments, using taxpayer dollars effectively, giving parents more choices and having standards that focus on the basics of preparing graduates for a career and making sure every child can read.
