Tennessee entertainer James Rogers will return to Pelzer for a performance at the Historic Pelzer Auditorium on Saturday May 10 at 7 p.m.

Pelzer resident Eddie Kirby, who befriended Rogers, is bringing the entertainer voted the Best Entertainer of the Smokies three years in a row back for an encore performance.

Rogers is an award winning singer, songwriter and instrumentalist who expertly weaves comedy into a one-man presentation. He has been a featured and favorite performer at the Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge for more than 20 years.

Rogers was partners in the 2000 seat Music Mansion in Pigeon Forge from 1993 to 1998 and at the time his production show was the number one most attended show in the smokies.

He has also appeared on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and headlined the Chattanooga Tenn.’s Riverbend Festival for many years.

Rogers has performed with country music mega-stars including Alabama, Ronnie Milsap, Ricky Skaggs, Lee Greenwood, Dolly Parton, Roy Clark, Ray Stevens and many more.

His multi-media performances are packed with a variety of sights, sounds and laughter and he manages to “keep it clean” as he uses his talents to capture and mesmerize an audience.

Kirby said he met Rogers in Pigeon Forge and wanted to bring him to the area for a one night family friendly show and talked with Rogers several times about it.

Last year, Rogers agreed to come to Pelzer and the turnout was great, Kirby said.

Tickets are $15 and are available from Kirby by calling  864-963-5946. Tickets are also available at Boots and Thelma’s Restaurant and Net’s Flowers in West Pelzer, Scott’s Barber Shop in Pelzer or ERS Radio Shack in Williamston.
