Williamston Police Officers reported a busy two week period, investigating the following incidents:

Apr. 15 – Lloyd Belton, 56, 200 Tripp St., Williamston was arrested for assault and battery following an incident at 104 Tripp St., in which Patrica Ann Barger, 51, 104 Tripp St., reported that Belton grabbed a phone from her and choked her after an unhinged door fell on him. Officer J. Rogers investigated.

Apr. 17 – Rabun Johnston Larson, 31, 137 Williams Rd., Pelzer was arrested for drug equipment violations, driving under suspension, operating an uninsured vehicle, faulty equipment and improper tag display after a black 1995 Isuzu Rodeo was observed on West Main St. with a cracked windshield. J. Sargent investigated.

Apr. 17 – An employee of Sav-Way, 309 E. Main St., Williamston reported the driver of a black SUV paid $18.01 for gas and then pumped $26.97 and left owing $8.96. G. Cremer investigated.

Apr. 18 – Bobby Jo Wright, 45, 8 B Casey St., Greenville was arrested for two outstanding bench warrants after the Greenville County Detention Center notified WPD that he was being released from their custody. M. E. Simmons investigated.

Apr. 20 – James Shawn Thomas, 29, 491 Chapman Rd. #71, Fountain Inn was arrested and issued a summons for driving under suspension after a truck was observed on Main St. pulling a trailer without functioning lights. Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

Apr. 21 – Two Hispanic 17 year old males were issued a summons for fighting after an incdent at Palmetto High School, 804 N. Hamilton St., Williamston. Francisco Miranda, 17, 647 Cherokee Rd,. Pelzer and Avendano-Jimenez Gabino, 17, 110 Carley Cr., Pelzer were issued summons, transported to WPD and released to family members. J. Sargent investigated.

Apr. 21 – Michael Joseph Mims, 47, 16 W. Second St., reported that a neighbor swerved her car toward him and went into the yard where Mims was cutting grass, barely missing him. No arrest was made at the time. Upon further investigation and after another reported incident, Annie Ruth Chastain, 71, 14 W. 2nd St., was arrested. G.. Cremer, C. Dennis and R. Drennon investigated.

Apr. 22 – Annie Ruth Chastain, 71, 14 W. 2nd St., Williamston was arrested for assault, aggravated pointing and presenting after officers were dispatched to 2nd St. in reference to a neighbor in the yard with a gun making threats. G. Cremer, R. Drennon investigated.

Apr. 22 – Billy Ray Smith was served a warrant for obstructing justice in connection with a shooting incident in Williamston. On Apr. 24 he was charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. T. L. Eichelberger and others in the WPD investigated.

Apr. 23 – Raderick Lee Gosnell, 19, 19 Parker St., Williamston was arrested and issued a courtesy summons for simple possession of marijuana after a light blue Jeep Cherokee was observed crossing Belton Dr., with the passenger side headlight unoperational. According to reports, officers found two plastic baggies containing a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana on his clothing and three empty beer containers in the vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle, Nicholas Adam Scyphers, 23, no address given, was issued a courtesy summons for the open container in a vehicle. J. Rogers investigated.

Apr. 24 – Amanda Friar, 34, 8 Ridge Ct., Williamston reported two ferns stolen from her porch and two planters destroyed. total value of the items is $50. G. Cremer is investigating.

Apr. 24 – Rita Brock, 57, 1 Ridge Ct., Williamston reported three plants along with three yard geese, several flowers and one man figurine were taken from her yard. Total value of the items is $125. G. Cremer investigated.

Apr. 21 – Lawrence Beanard Cadden, 47, 2 Crawford St., Williamston reported a 5HP Poulan push mower valued at $120 taken from his residence. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Apr. 25 – Jason Junior Webb, 35, 124 Harper St., #B, Williamston was arrested for shoplifting and trespass notice after officers were dispatched to Dollar General, 526 West Main, St., Williamston in reference to a shoplifting incident. According to reports, Webb left the store without paying for a three pack of tank top T-shirts valued at $9. The item was recovered. Webb and Daniel Jene Fields, 19, 8 Coker Circle, Williamston were also placed on trespass notice from Family Dollar, Hwy. 20 Williamston regarding an incident there. T. L. Eichelberger, R. Apr. 25 – Thomas Eric Morgan, 41, 236 E. Foxridge Dr., Lyman, was arrested for disorderly conduct after an incident at McDonald’s, 4 Main St. and then at Fast Fuel, 207 W. Main St. involving yelling and cursing. R. Drennon investigated.

Apr. 25 – Carol F. Sargent, 72, 1208 Dickens Ave, Williamston reported eight solar yard lights taken from her property. The items were valued at $25. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Apr. 26 – Keith Anthony Floyd, 51, 82 Taurus Dr., Gray Court was arrested for disorderly conduct after officers were dispatched to 45 Market St. in reference to a vehicle accident. Officers found a green 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass station wagon partially hanging off a brick wall at 45 Market St. According to reports, Floyd said he was following his brother and made a wrong turn. He also admitted he had been drinking. T. L. Eichelberger investigated.
