Baccalaureate services this Sunday for area graduates

Baccalaureate services for seniors of all three Anderson School District One High Schools will be held this Sunday, May 25. Local churches are sponsoring or hosting the event for each school.

Baccalaureate service for Palmetto High graduating seniors will be held in the Palmetto High School Auditorium on Sunday at 6 p.m. The annual event, which in the past has been organized by the school, is being hosted by New Hope Baptist Church with help from other local churches.

The Whitefield Baptist Youth Praise Band will provide music prior to the service.

Hannah Michelle Connor will welcome guests. Cason Mark Chapman will give the invocation.

History of the Baccalaureate will be presented by Sydney Olivia Lollis

A Musical Presentation, “Oceans” by Hillsong, will be presented by Chase Sheppard, Tyler McIntosh, Emma Ogburn, Nicole Clanton and Hannah Connor.

There will be a Congregational Hymn, “Just As I Am- I Come Broken” led by Rev. Tim Moon, of Cedar Grove Baptist

Lauren Elizabeth Adams will read scripture from Psalm 20:4-7.

Kirsten Shaye McCullough will have a prayer.

Aaron Marie Parris will introduce the speaker, Rev. Robert Parris, Pastor of New Hope Baptist. His message is “What Are You Trusting In?”

Austin Cole Roache will pronounce the Benediction and the Whitefield Baptist Youth Praise Band will play during the Recessional.

Grace Church in Powdersville, located at 9205 Hwy. 81 North (Piedmont) will be holding Baccalaureate for Wren seniors.

Bethesda Methodist Church, located at 516 Piedmont Rd. (Easley) just off Hwy. 81 in Powdersville, will host Powdersville seniors.

For the Wren Baccalaureate program, Nate James of Missionary Baptist Church will have the prelude.

Junior Marshals Erin Batson, Dylan Porter, Serena Khaleghi and Kate Brady, Sarah Wislon and Holly Perry will lead the processional.

Morgan Smith of Rock Spring Baptist Church will have the Doxology. Luke White, of Grace Chruch will give the Invocation.

Wren Principal Nicole Boseman will welcome guests.

Special music will be provided by Cason Carter of Newspring Church.

Griffin Conner will introduce the speaker, Dr. Keith Shorter, Pastor of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.

A congregational hymn willl be led by Callie Mustin of Mt. Airy Baptist Church and another hymn will follow led by Caitlin Epperson of Rock Spring Baptist Church. Jacob Clary of Grace Church will pronounce the benediction. Joseph Dion, Student Pastor at Grace Church will close the service.

Commencement services for three District One High Schools will be held Friday, May 30 at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson.

Palmetto graduates will be the first to receive diplomas beginning at 10 a.m. with the first graduating class of the new Powdersville High School following at 1 p.m.

Wren graduation will be held at 4 p.m.
