Construction on the Mineral Spring Trail Project will begin in late August, officials said this week. Williamston Mayor Mack Durham had hoped the project would be underway and finished by the Spring Water Festival however the proposed timeline for contractors was too tight.
“Everyone seems to have too much work to dedicate resources to our project within our proposed timeline,” Durham said. “We were trying to avoid construction during our fall festivals, but that now looks unavoidable.”
The new proposed schedule is: July 14 – Advertisement for bids on SCBO; July 31 – Pre-Bid Meeting; August 12 – Bid Opening; August 19 – Tentative Pre-Construction Meeting; August 25 – Construction to begin; October 31 – Substantial Completion.
