Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a burglary in the Piedmont area in which shots were fired by a homeowner. According to reports, a Piedmont man was awoken by his alarm and heard someone inside his home at Reedy Drive at 6:25 a.m. Monday morning. The victim told deputies the burglar ran outside while carrying two compound bows and a rifle. The homeowner fired six shots at the man as he was running away, but did not know if he hit the thief. Deputies searched nearby for the thief but did not locate him. The bows and rifle were found nearby in the woods. Anyone with information on the incident should call Crime Stopper at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
