The Palmetto Area Cultural Arts Center (PACAC) in Williamston is offering a second Summer Arts Camp July 28 – Aug. 1. Palmetto Middle School Art Teacher Thomas Addison and Cedar Grove Elementary School Art Teacher Heather Dowell will lead a visual arts camp for children ages six to 12 years.

“The summer program at the PACAC is a great opportunity for the community to experience the type of professional and creative programming we are planning,” Addison said.

In the visual arts summer camp, participants will experience a different type of artistic technique each day of the week-long camp. Some of the activities camp children will experience include working with clay; exploring a texture scavenger hunt; building and racing sailboats; and making 3D glasses.

The summer arts camp will be held in the new Palmetto Area Cultural Arts Center, also known as the Artory, located in the former Armory building on Gossett St. in Williamston.

The cost is $75 per student. For additional information or to register, visit the Palmetto Area Cultural Arts Center website at www.williamstonpacarts.com.

The Palmetto Area Cultural Arts Center held the first of two summer camps earlier this month. The camp had tremendous response and went very well according to organizers.
