JOE KING, JOE BURROUGHS, DYLAN JAMES ALLEY, BEAUFORD ‘B.J.’ MATHIS, H. MARSHALL MOONEY, JOSEPH HALLUMS,

JOE KING
Joe Charles King, 90, of Pelzer, widower of Pat Skeen King, died July 30, 2014.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late David Allen and Eula Lindley King.  He served in the U.S. Army 9th Division during World War II.  He first retired from the U.S. Air Force and later from Greenville County.  For several years, he managed D.A. King Hardware which was founded by his father.
He attended Bessie Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include son, Terry King of Pelzer; daughter, Cindy Zoeller of Lewes, Delaware; brother, D. Allen King, Jr. of Greenville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held August 3 at Bessie Road Baptist Church. Burial was held Monday at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JOE BURROUGHS
Mr. Joe Burroughs, age 68 of Newnan, GA died August 2, 2014. He was born in Pelzer, South Carolina on June 10, 1946 to the late James Brewster Burroughs and Virginia Davis Burroughs. He retired after 26 years of service as a buyer for Yokogawa Industries. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Chris Burroughs and a brother, Billy Burroughs.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jacobs Burroughs of Newnan; son, Steve Burroughs (Charlotte) of Williamston, SC; daughter, Sandi Jeanes (Jerry) of Pelzer, SC; godson, Shane Durrough of Atlanta; best friends, Carl and Sercia Jacobs; 7 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with Rev. Steve Crews officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. DYLAN JAMES ALLEY
May 27, 1994 – July 19, 2014
Dylan James Alley, of Piedmont, died July 19, 2014.
He was son of Billy and Kim Rhodes Alley.
His grandparents were the late Kenneth Rhodes, Mike and Sue McNeill and Jimmy and Linda Alley.
He attended Will Lou Gray Academy.
Cremated (Cremation Society of SC) Services were held July 22 at Church of God of Prophecy in Conestee.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the overwhelming love and support from family and friends during this time.

BEAUFORD ‘B.J.’ MATHIS
Beauford “B.J.” Mathis, 86, of Greenville, died Friday, August 1, 2014 at National Health Center in Mauldin.
Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late P.C. and Anica Chiles Mathis.
He was retired from Stevens Aviation and a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Estelle Mathis of the home; two daughters, Baretta Sweeney of Greenville and Claudia McCier of Greenwood; four sons, Curtis Mathis of Woodbridge, VA, Beauford Mathis, Jr. and Brian Mathis of Greenville, and Ralph Mathis of Piedmont; two sisters, Dorothy Mathis and Virginia Watson of Greenwood; three brothers, Howard Mathis, Bennie Mathis Sr., and Charles Mathis, all of Greenwood; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at Valleybrook Baptist Church with burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

H. MARSHALL MOONEY
Hugh Marshall Mooney, 88, of Greer, died August 2, 2014 at the Pelham Medical Center.
A native of Greer, he was a son of the late Horace Victor and Florence Hayes Mooney, retired from Mayfair Mills, a member of El Bethel Baptist Church, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Sybil Shirley Mooney of the home; son, Stephen Mooney of Greer; three daughters, Shirley McCoy and Nancy Brandt of Greer; and Carol Stanley of Piedmont and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Wood Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to El Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 313 Jones Avenue, Greer, SC 29650.

JOSEPH HALLUMS
Joseph Hallums, 80, of Easley, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Easley, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Magdeline Williams Halllums.
Surviving are daughters, Betty Jo Jones and Cornelia Robinson of Easley, Frances Young of Lyman; son, Terry Lee Williams of Mauldin; sisters, Frances Beamon of Atlanta, GA, Gwendolyn Griffin of CT, and Ruth Tutt of Simpsonville; brothers, Furman Hallums of Powdersville, Andrew Hallums and Benjamin Hallums, both of CT; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, August 5 at Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary.
