Mill Town Players to present Patsy Cline

First production for new theater group

There’s an almost unbelievable rumor stirring in the streets of Pelzer that says superstar Patsy Cline will be taking the stage of the Pelzer Auditorium next month. And, thanks to Mill Town Players, the rumor is true. Mill Town Players, a new community theater located in downtown Pelzer, is dedicated to entertaining, inspiring and enriching the community by providing quality and affordable live theater.

The first production slated for their inaugural season is Always Patsy Cline. This musical tribute to the legendary country singer comes complete with down home country humor, true emotion and even a little audience participation.

Audiences will be treated to many of Patsy’s unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight.

Always Patsy Cline will feature Upstate stage veterans Katie Rockwell and Leah Thomas and will keep toes tapping with a live country band. The production will run from September 19 through 28,

Executive Artistic Director Will Ragland and casts of community actors will be offering five other outstanding shows this season. The exciting list includes family favorites such as A Christmas Carol, Alice in Wonderland, and Treasure Island. Also hitting the stage are spooky Appalachian tale, Dark of the Moon and the beloved musical Grease.

Tickets and dates for all shows are on sale now on the theatre’s website at www.milltownplayers.org or through their box office at (864) 947-8000. Ticket prices are $10 for the general public, $8 for seniors (65+) and $7 for students (18 and under). Shows run at 8pm Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 3pm on Sundays
