Williamston Police Report

Williamston Police investigated incidents including thefts of bicycles and a computer and jewelry and other items from residences in the area. Among incidents investigated were:

Sept. 4 – Williamston Police are investigating an incident in which suspects pulled in front of a house on West 5th St. yelling. When the homeowner came out to see what was going on two people exited a Ford Expedition and threatened the victim for saying things about her kids on Facebook.

Sept. 5 – Austin Harolid Vice, 20, 104 Drake St., Anderson was arrested for driving under suspension, operating an uninsured vehicle and unsafe vehicle after a white Ford Explorer was observed in the Dollar General parking lot and then on West Main without a windshield. Cpl. L. E. Mulz, C. Samuel investigated.

Sept. 5 – Kimberlay Dawn Griffith, 37, 111 Compton Rd., Pelzer was arrested for simple possession of marijuana after a red pickup truck was observed on Minor St. with only one functioning brake lamp. A partially burned marijuana “roach” was found in the ash tray. A small baggie with .070 grams of a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana was also found in a pocket book inside the vehicle. M. E. Simmons investigated.

Sept. 6 – Michael Shane Ebert, 17, 202 Anderson St., Williamston was arrested for simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a green Chevrolet was observed crossing the yellow line and touching the white line several times on Mill St. Reports state a small baggie containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana was found in Ebert’s right sock. Also a marijuana grater was found in the vehicle. Ebert, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was issued a UTT for simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver of the car (who was not listed on the report) was issued a UTT for the manner of driving. M. E. Simmons investigated.

Sept. 6 – Todd Ezekial Burris, 49, 205 River Dr., Williamston was arrested for disturbing the peace after officers were dispatched to the residence in reference to a domestic situation. C. Samuel, Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

Sept. 8 – Ronald Cape Thomas, 28, 400 S. Academy St., Williamston was arrested for shoplifting after officers responded to Ace Hardware, 29 Pelzer Avenue, Williamston in reference to a shoplifting incident. According to reports, Cape purchased some items and then as he was leaving, picked up a Clemson Tiger yard flag, pole and base from the sidewalk display and left the premises without paying for it. The yard flag, which was recovered from his car, was valued at $29. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Sept. 6 – Janice Louise Meal, 66, 3 Scruggs Rd., Williamston reported somone stole her wallet which from her vehicle while she was inside the store at Fast Fuel, 207 W. Main St. The wallet, valued at $15, contained various documents and three or four dollar bills. M. E. Simmons investigated.

Sept. 6 – Katesha Choy Goodine, 36, 106 Crown Ct., Williamston reported two bicycles stolen from her porch. The bicycles, valued at $150 each, were described as a white Mongoose mountain bike and a smaller green Mongoose trick bike. M. E. Simmons investigated.

Sept. 8 – Sav-Way, 110 E. Greenville Dr., Williamston reported a gas drive-off in which a white male driving a gold mini-van handed the clerk a credit card which turned out not to be real and then pumped gas valued at $35.48 and drove off. T. L. Eichelberger investigated.

Sept. 7 – Officers are investigating an incident at 20 Circle Dr., Williamston in which items including a .22 cal. semi-auto pistol, a Mac computer, silver jewelry and a family photo were taken. The items were valued at $1715. G. Cremer investigated.
