Captain Kevin Marsee of the Williamston Police Department is warning area businesses that counterfeit $20 bills are being passed in the area. Marsee warns that when taking in several $20s at one time, business should look at the serial numbers of the bills to make sure that they all do not contain the same serial number.
“Also we highly recommend that you use a detection device such as a pen or other scanning device,” he said. Businesses should especially be on the lookout for $20 bills with serial #s 66657273G, 61348302A, and 53704657D.
